May I know where to find this on Velocity site please .. my search is fruitless
I had trouble and did it this way
Click on the top-left (three horizontal lines)
Choose Partners and offers
Choose airlines then SQ
Choose transfer points and there is a link on that page

Not sure if I am posting in the correct thread - apologies if not
Yesterday I booked online with Velocity points two J seats IST-SIN-HBA for June 2023 (about 135,000 points each). Received the E-Ticket with the 6 digit booking ref plus 13 digit ticket number.

When forwarding the flights to CMT the return email says "unable to read your trip details and import them into your account",

and SingaporeAir manage my trip does not recognise either of them. For the booking ref it says "The flights in your booking are fully flown, or your booking has been cancelled." and for the E-Ticket 13 digit number it says "We cannot process your request right now. Please try again later, or get in touch with your local Singapore Airlines office."

Any suggestions about how to get around this please - I'm a bit concerned

many thanks

It's OK - i have basically sorted it. 😊

There was a second PNR buried within the booking - once I used that rather than the Virgin PNR on the Singapore website everything clicked into place and I now have our seats selected. Still havent worked out how to add the booking to Check My Trip but I'm not concerned that it was a mythical booking any more.

You would use the same PNR for CMT that you used on the SQ website.

The VA reservation code is a Sabre code, and the one you use for CMT is the airline's code, SQ use Amadeus which is why they have a different airline reservation code. These are global reservation systems and compete with each other.

Sabre's equivalent of CMT is TripCase.

Thanks antycbr & MrH - that explains it then - and relieves any remaining vague worries.

I previously used TripIt, then went to CMT which sounded THE one - so I'll add TripCase to the list. However - they all compete with my feeble comprehension and reservation/computer literacy 🤪

Still thrilled to have the Velocity / SQ IST-HBA flights for basically all those flybuy points!

You must be one of the top 1% of flybuys participants 😂

Sure beats the $10 off the shop, which with inflation running the way it is, doesn't even buy an iceberg lettuce.

I imagine the top 1% of Flybuys participants are over-represented on this forum. Playing the targeted bonuses game can bring big rewards. I have collected 200,000 Velocity points through Flybuys since Covid. I remember from the last Velocity transfer bonus thread that others had amassed almost identical totals.

Top 5% on my three family members cards - so maybe that is about 1% overall :D. I just did a count back and it is 203,000 since January 2020 and 250,000 since 31st July 2019 (is that when it started - or just as far as the Velocity site shows?)

anyway - very happy Jan.

I have just cancelled :( 4xJ redemptions on SQ231 SIN-SYD for 20 Apr 2023 (NSW school holidays)
No idea if they will return to award inventory but jump in quick if they do and it suits

Hi all,

Apologies for the stupid question but been a few years between redemptions and confused about current VA/SQ status.

I’m looking to book SQ for a trip MEL-SIN-ICN. I’m hoping to get the 20% Velocity Status Credit but I’m confused by what the process is for redemptions currently?

If I add my Velocity # to the SQ booking will I have a way to redeem in the SQ system to use Velocity points to upgrade to Business Class?

Or do I need to add Krisflyer # to SQ booking and transfer Velocity points -> KF and upgrade that way (and I assume miss out on Status credits towards VA?).

Appreciate any guidance!

Sounds complicated. I didn't think award bookings were eligible for paid upgrades - whether paid in points or cash - but in this brave new world, who knows? You almost certainly won't be able to pay SQ for an upgrade or anything else in VA points.

So I think it’s a case of:
Book SQ Econ-flexi with SQ FF# and if upgrade avail use SQ points.

I don’t really understand what would happen to the booking if I put my VA FF initially. Does that block me from using SQ points to upg and/or can I just change the FF between SQ/VA after initial booking?

I recently had an SQ booking with my VA number against it. If I was logged into Krisflyer and pulled up the booking I was unable to use KF miles to request an upgrade. I guess it's possible that the VA number could be added in after an upgrade cleared...I assume that wouldn't affect the upgrade.

Hi All,
Is SIA awards to/from Hong Kong bookable? Also, I notice that Velocity doesn't have access to all frequencies of SIA's flights - trying Singapore to Brisbane right now and have never seen the SQ255 flight ever having any seats despite it being wide open on Singapore's own website. Is this a glitch (I heard Velocity is supposed to have access to the same Saver availability) or is this just Velocity getting access to less?

With Singapore and QATAR opening up there reward availability a good month before Virgin does anyone know if Singapore "reserve" any premium cabins for virgin, or in peak periods are they all gone before Virgin has access to them.
Just deciding whether I should transfer my points to krisflyer to ensure availability. Thanks

Another thing to note is that if you see availability on KrisFlyer for SQ seats but not on VA website you can call VA and they may be able to book them.
For our upcoming trip to Asia SQ I was chasing 4x J tickets SIN-BKK and SQ where showing 4 flight options whereas VA was only showing 1 option and that departure time didn’t suit. I called VA Plat line and was able to choose 1 of the other flights. I don’t know if this always works or what inventory VA has access to but was happy with the outcome this time. All up from dialling up to booking and paying was about 6 minutes total. All up cost me 104k VA points plus $228 in fees. If I had booked with SQ it would have cost 96k miles plus $228 in fees but to get the 96k miles I would’ve needed to convert 148k of VA points
