Velocity status credits not used to maintain status.... glitch or "feature"?

So a few days ago, I was sitting on 995 status credits as a Gold.

I took a return flight Canberra to Melbourne booking "Choice" flights, which each gave me 15 status credits. The flights were on the same day.

The CBR-MEL flight did not get credited until AFTER the MEL-CBR flight.

So, I was then on 1010 status credits, which pushed me to Platinum (for first time, yay me on Virgin lol).

The extra 10 status credits did not get credited towards the 800 needed to maintain platinum, although I'm sure in the past that my excess did...

But what was worse was that the second slight (15 status credits and one eligible sector) ALSO did not get counted towards maintaining status.... because my "year" started the day after the flight....

So that's 10-25 status credits that somehow "disappeared"..., meaning I actually need 815 or more to maintain status...

This strikes me as a bit... stinky, so is this normal or an error of Virgin's?

Thanks...

I had the reverse happen recently.

Took a business class flight to Ballina and back to ensure Plat for the year - despite being gold before the first flight, both flights have counted towards requalifying for Plat next year.

110 Status and 2 flights to the good for me!

I had this happen a couple of years ago and got in contact with them and they did special entry of the status credits towards my requalifying target
