Just realized I have 20k Velocity points about to expire in 7 days! Not a lot but still....

Thought I might linked it to my Krisflyer account and convert it over. Will I get 3 years of expiry period for those newly converted Krisflyer points?

Apologies if this has already been asked.

Thanks. Learning a lot just browsing these forums!

Could you get some new velocity points through flybuys or BP to reset the timer?

Don't have Flybuys too as I hardly ever shop at Coles.

I just transfer a little bit and it pops up in my Krisflyer account already.

Transferred points take on their own Kris life of three years.

So that should fix it (at a 15% penalty).

Going forward, get yourself a flybuys account and link to Velocity; there is a minimum transfer but it shouldn't be difficult to reach that level within a year.

Also it looks like after transferring 5k points to KrisFlyer. It resets the inactivity counter on the Velocity account and the rest of the remaining points no longer expires!?!?

So who is transferring 750k to velocity then to KF. With a 40% bonus it's better than going direct from Amex to KF?

I just transfered > 2m points to velocity; they'll sit there until an impending KF redemption possibility comes up. No real rush to give them an expiry date so soon, right?

What is the transfer rate Velocity to Kris flyer?. I’ve not done one before.

Kevin can you buy some additional VA points under their top-up offer? Might be worthwhile if no other options.

How do you guys accumulate 2 million miles lol. I struggle to get 100000 quickly lol. How long did that take you?

1.35 VF = 1 KF mile. Quite a hit, but when it's a program that actually has international J availability (lol @ Velocity)...well you be the judge.

I have found if saver seat is available on SQ it can be booked directly with VA points, so not sure what the lol is for? Often makes more sense to do this rather than transfer points.

Is it guaranteed that if saver is available on sq website then can book with VA points? Ie saving the 1.35 transfer rate. If so it’s a no brainer to book with va points. Or are there perks in using sq miles to book??

Not guaranteed. Just my experience. It’s also not hard to call VA and check once you have looked up on SQ.
