Velocity/Virgin websites are RUBBISH

VA know they are "on notice" and I gave them an idea of the loss of "goodwill" (and revenue) that they have lost since the Sabre switchover (from my viewpoint and anecdotal evidence from posts by other members). The ability of the Authenticated Rep (Velocity Frequent Flyer) to take on the communications will engender some return of that goodwill initially, but it's an ongoing function. VA's ability to enunciate time frames on some of the initial list (then down to all points) will further enhance or detract from their "goodwill" quotient.

I am but a conduit, to tie up a more meaningful relationship between the two parties. I am looking forward to meeting some of these VA people in the not-to-distant future (and perhaps other Mods can join me, depending on availability). It is then my fervent hope that VA will engage a number of AFF members in the future on some of the concepts VA are reviewing now. That will show the strength of the relationship and the ability for us to shape perhaps products or concepts from a range of areas.

Thanks eastwest101 for the list, and picking up on my gluten free entry. I would be happy to participate in any forum (am in Sydney). Unfortunately, haven't used blogs on this site before and can not seem to find your blog.

Sorry guys - I know that some people here can view the blog and some can't, I will try to figure out why. But in the meantime the contents of the blog is almost verbatim from Post # 94 in this thread anyway - so use that as a guide if there are any obvious ommissions or problems with the VA and Velocity websites that I haven't picked up yet.

totd - I can see that you have been a visitor - along with AdMEL,bullerdude, Lindsay Wilson, Markmat, rtyuiop, totd

but only Lindsay Wilson has been able to leave a comment, will contact Admin and see whats happening.

admin had to reset something - try it now if you want to guys.....

Coming late to the party but I'm happy to contribute to focus groups or whatever if needed.

Focus groups or other marketing initiatives from VA will be a little into the future, once they bed down the communication and website/Sabre issues. I'll let everyone know.

Otherwise, I'd recommend everyone review this thread now - posting to it (or sending a PM with specific Velocity issues) will certainly get the direct attention of Velocity Frequent Flyer

VA website formatting broken for anyone else? Tried in chrome and IE, looks mangled.
No dramas here in Chrome. Do you use an ad blocker? A fair chunk of the front page is served up from domains that are commonly blocked, and until someone on here pointed that out and I excepted the VA domain from blocking it used to look quite mangled.

On the other hand, the VFF rep did post a couple of days ago that they will be progressively dropping website functionality during the year in order to improve usability, maybe they've started :p.

Same with me my Firefox browser defaults to block a lot of the advertising, once I allowed Firefox to display advertising on Virgin Australia | Book flights & holidays with Virgin Australia then the web site changed from a disaster area to something much more proffesional looking.

is there any uodate from the VA rep. Everything seemsvto have gone silent, or have i missed a post somewhere?

what i meant is have we had any update from a VA rep, as it seems that momentum is lost. have i missed a update somewhere?

Markmat, you need to go to the sub forum that has been created in the Virgin Velocity forum - it's called "Ask Velocity Frequent Flyer". Can't give you the link ATM

I do agree with you - yeah it's virgin australia/velocity website problems.

We did complain to Virgin Australia that reservation and booking system aren't user-friendly site. It's soo annoyed and it gives us too much frustrated how to use it. We still haven't heard from Virgin Australia for ages.

After I got an e-ticket from the travel agent and I couldn't get online to choose seats. So I have to call to Virgin Australia call centre to reserve a seat. I only want to use online to choose a seat so that I could see no one sitting next to me (I know that the plane werent full).

I will not move up to next level and will fly with Qantas in the future.

Bjet,

The VA rep is now a regular on the forum again from about three weeks ago.

See the previous post from Lindsay Wilson. There is a new VA sub forum that they are visiting regularly. If you have issues then post them there to get answers.

See: Ask Velocity Frequent Flyer

I have asked the same question in the Ask Velocity Frequent Flyer forum right now - so we may get a response about this issue in the future.

I am just annoyed that I log in with VFF to look for reward seats and then have to re-log in again on the flights page. Just so unnecessary and needs to be fixed.
