Vindictive seat selection?

My regular QF DOM 738 flights always have some non-WP somehow use the CIS to get 4B/E to have the "Extra Legroom", "No Recliners in front" or "Get off the plane quicker".
Yet often 5B/E thru 8B/E are empty, with WP's on the aisles and windows.
I use 5A now for that reason, very good chance of empty 5B. Still get bumped up to J just as often as when in 4A. Also more shoulder room, if there is a 5B.

However, what annoys me the most with these last minute CIS assigned front section middle seaters, is often they are the "broadest" people on the plane - why don't the CIS look at the size of them and then put em back with the SG's and lower, instead of ruining the WP's flights???? Then again, maybe it's just for flight trim...:)

Looking at it from the Platinum end of the scale, I'll specifically choose an aisle seat with nobody in the middle and it irks me when some noob bronze person decides to take the middle seat towards the front, despite there being plenty of better seats towards the back.

Diddums!!!

... genaerally cannot select closer to the front than the third row of coach class ...

"Coach" class??? Puhlease, I nearly fell over on the "sidewalk" outside "Congress" in the "capitol" when I read that Qantas now has a "coach" class.

At least I guess their meal choices will now include an "appetizer" followed by an "entree" on long-haul flights. Can't wait to use those QFF "miles" to to become an "elite".

Only if you use your FF card or mobile phone. I find most "noobs" have a full slip BP as they aren't up with that sort of stuff. Just personal observations.

Perhaps, but I just like collecting and saving my proper old boarding passess and am not impressed by those coughpy thermal paper things!

I think WP's use the card scan because it's obvious to everyone you're a DYKWIA Platinum, whereas 'proper' boarding passes are more stealth

Qantas in SYD have refused to print me a BP a number of times. The self check machines are a waste of time. I'm not going to waste my paper printing a BP with OLCI. That leaves using my QFF card as the most convenient method.

I use my card because i check in at the pole as you walk in to the airport terminal.

I have asked for a proper BP and was told to use my card IME the card readers play up more than they work and then have to queue up and get a paper BP anyway.

TSV is always having problems with the card scanning.
