I find Starward undrinkable
I drink a lot of mostly non peated scotch, irish and bourbon. I find Starward to be a significant step back on my palate - young and lolly water like. Lacking complexity. I've given my Starward bottles to charity (friends) who would probably use it as a mixer.Really? Did you get a bad bottle? I've been through 2 and I thought it was pretty decent
Interesting, my go-to whiskies are the peatier ones (Laphroaig, Lagavullin, etc.) and I've found the Starward to be excellent drinking at the price.I drink a lot of mostly non peated scotch, irish and bourbon. They must have found some stock to send. My order has been disbatched. Also a great steal on the $50 off code is the Starward Nova - already well priced compared to other places at $84.90. Not a whisky that will blow your mind but well priced for a local, and at $34.90 shipped is a solid deal.
EDIT: now sold out, given their warehouse is a block from Starward I'd suggest not a stock issue but them pulling it after a few sales that no doubt cost them a few dollars a bottle in losses!
I got mine too, but an hour after I ordered it was listed as sold out, and perhaps returned again after that code was cancelled. They must have found some stock to send. My order has been disbatched.
Different strokes for different folks. I’m not a big fan of bourbon but always have a few bottles of decently peated Islay malts on the go, and still find Starward an enjoyable sipper for something simple and yes - definitely young. No issues with young for me - I love a bright young spirit - prefer my Lagavulin 8 to 16!I drink a lot of mostly non peated scotch, irish and bourbon. It's worth every dollar of that in the bottle but much prefer to scalp it sub $40 with flybuys and cash back at First ChoiceGet on it people. Huge discount of 0%!! Marketing team are working overtime!View attachment 331993

How was it?
Worth it for the price?
Just opened a bottle of Wood Park Zin and it exceeded my expectations. It is quite big, kind of like drinking a fruitcake, nice finish. Much better than Wente IMO. However I can understand why some people won’t like it. I certainly do.I ended up getting the Zinfandel just for a bit of variety - even though I got some of the Wente for $5 from VC last week.
