I bought a box from the first round and wasn’t super impress. It is very strong. Not sure why but there are a lot of sediment in the bottle. Too much for only 4 years old.Wood Park. Looks like sold out again.
Previously mentioned in this thread as having fruitcake notes which piqued my interest.
Zinfandel 2019 – Black Market Deal #44867 - Red Wine
Zinfandel has the reputation for being rich, plump, jammy and opulent to the extreme - all good things. But it can also be hotter than a day in the desert an...www.vinomofo.com

Hand-harvested fruit spends 14 months in a mix of new and seasoned French oak before going into bottle - this is the top wine from this producer, and it shows.www.vinomofo.com
I believe there are reviews for its 2020 vintage. I am a bit concerned with "Cellaring Potential: Now – 8 years." on their website.Thanks. Looks interesting, but I can find very little on this wine other than from the Estate itself. Has anyone tried it? Any reviews available?

I dont have anything i can say on this one aside from the bit of googling that reveals Montague used to be known as Heydon Estate which looks to be in Willyabrup, Margaret River, WA.Thanks. Thanks so much for your effort, Nanachi, and everybody else's too. I'm a Marg River addict historically, but drifted to European wine over the last couple of years out of boredom. I'm starting to come back to base this last six months. I bought a dozen of the Jilyara on the VM hype and several reviews, and I've found it lacking. But then I do like to get slapped in the face with my cabs. What others call "refined" and "approachable" I call watery! I might just grab a six pack of the Montague on the condition that I can send five back if it's cough.I dont have anything i can say on this one aside from the bit of googling that reveals Montague used to be known as Heydon Estate which looks to be in Willyabrup, Margaret River, WA.
There looks to have been some big changes amongst estates in Margaret River as last year i did purchase a 6 pack of Jilyara, Williams Block, cab sav 2020 from the same Margaret river area, and their estate seems to have a similar story - a newer ownership that's operating in the area.
As a side note, curiousity got the better of me and i did open a Jilyara, the quality of this wine was outstanding imo. Floral with fine tannins, filled with dark berries and a cigar box taste, very well structured and approachable now, but i see this one aging very well and feel it would be a waste to open more now.
If the Montague is anywhere near as good, then it'll be great to keep an eye on the estates. Really loving the WA cabs, it's hard to go wrong with them.
It's funny reading those descriptions, i think i have a similar opinion on cab savs <15yrs old as well. I realised that young cabs don't give me the "slap" i'm after .. but the same cab, 15-20 yrs later? All of the extra tertiary flavours develop and you're left with something a lot more powerful. Thanks so much for your effort, Nanachi, and everybody else's too.
