Vinomofo Wine Deals

Looks like the 2011 Shiraz Black Market Deal ($160 down to $48) is the Hazelgrove Cruth. Didn't this pop up recently?

Haselgrove?

2011 and 2012 Cruth have both been on this year from memory. The 2012 cost more because it was a much better year.

In fact there have been many deals involving Haselgrove Wines so far this year. I recently opened a bottle of the 'Old Nut'. Impressed.

Yeah. I kept ordering under the wrong account, so it took yonks to get VIM status  At least the rest of the family, including our dog, could make good use of their $25 joining credits.

Anyone worked out the latest VIM deal yet ($130 down to $65):

"At the ‘Fo, we keep it real and we don’t go around saying that every single wine is “the best.” What happens though when a wine comes along that’s light years ahead of the pack? Well then, mof_s, we can say that it is “the best” and guess what? This is the BEST.

In my four years at the ‘Fo, I can safely say that this is the BEST deal that we’ve had on a super premium Cabernet. I am basically waiting for Donald Trump to give me a call to congratulate me. While this is of course a secret, I’m happy to share that this iconic label has an RRP of $130. That means you’re getting $65 off per bottle, $390 off per 6 pack, $780 off per dozen or $7800 off per 10 dozen (if you’re a Sheikh or billionaire or something). Scoring 97 points from Halliday, 96 from both Huon Hooke and Ralph Kyte-Powell this is just not ordinary Cabernet, this is a beautiful expression of Cabernet. It’s elegant and fresh with loads of concentration, muscular tannins, great length and power.

This is a wine to contemplate on. A wine to cellar. A wine to give as a gift or keep for yourself. This is a wine to buy now as this is never going to happen again."

Many things match (multi region, RRP and critics scores), but right alcohol? DM's have it at 13.5%

Although listed here with 14.1% and the matching critics scores for Halliday and Kyte-Powell are displayed:

On balance, I think you're probably correct. And I'm in because this is an excellent wine.

Damn, I just don't have $400 to spend atm (well I do but just not on vino), wish it was in a 3 pack deal. CM only gave it a 94 according to DM which is interesting.

Rocket ... Find someone to go halves with. Occasionally I'll buy a dozen or a 6 pack from Vino and split it with someone at work.

I do have a few people that will take some wine off my hands but that is usually black market stuff, don't have anyone to share more expensive wines with unfortunately.

Thomas 2012 scored a 86/100 Bronze medal in the recent 2015 Royal Sydney Wine Show, under "Class 28: Cabernet Sauvignon v2012".
Was there some "misalignment" with the judges and their taste preferences vs JH and HH scoring system??
Interesting.

The elephant in the room here is the Amelia Reserve shiraz 2012, Recently this took out a gold in London in late '14, and consequently, is awaiting the next stages of judging. Anyone tried one yet as she was pretty hot to trot? And a tasting comparison with some recent purchases?
