Had one of my 02's recently and can happily report it was drinking very well. Bright fruit and good length.

Hi jason, have you experience with the golden lion from the barossa ? Is it any good?

Once again, when you spend over fifty bucks on a wine, such as -ironically- Nigel dolan's old saltran numero uno that folks are discussing today - you would expect serious quality but it does sound like a little disenchantment is occurring from the potentially purring........ golden lion perhaps.

Had a party saturday night where one of my favourite wineries, Thorn Clarke , had their sandpiper shiraz '13 going. Not bad at all, a little too sweet to be honest, but not bad. Slightly manufactured as they say. They make one of my all time favourites - the shotfire quartage which i find to be stunning. also going, the pepperjack shiraz-cabernet '13. a better wine, but for me, didn't have the wow factor. But an honest drop.

Yes I must admit I am not too excited about the Lou Miranda, I will be trying one asap. Was really hoping for the Orphan Bank, must admit I am disappointed but will wait and see.

I passed on the Golden Dragon. Wines specifically meant for the Middle Kingdom don't impress me.
The Saltram #1 2010 is very good, not rich, dark fruits longish finish.

If you look at Lou Miranda Wines the RRP on the premium stuff is around $35 to $40 (from memory) so this was inflated for export to the chinese market at $50 I guess (Year of the Lion, Lion Dance etc) and probably not their premium juice either but thought it would be an OK quaffer at $15. Some tasters report big improvement on second nights tasting so I'd aerate or decanter or both then pass judgement

Yeah I always decanter for a few hours if it is a young wine. Can't really find any reviews on this wine in particular, will see how it goes. Anyone here received it yet? Good thing they have a good return policy, if it isn't to my particular taste back it goes. Red B bought some knowing what it was, so he must know something about it.

THe 6ft6 is good value for money. Nothing special, but a good little inoffensive quaffer.
