Vinomofo Wine Deals

Does anyone know what the Coonawarra 2012 Cab Sauv is? The one with mutliple 95s and a 96?

EDIT: The Wynns Black Label. Can get it same price at Winestar

For fridays funny, I would like a beer with my sausage.
[h=1]Unfortunately placed beer and sausage ad mocked[/h]28th May, 2015 by Lauren Eads [h=2]An eye-catching billboard advertising a Costa Rican beer brand has caught the attention of drivers, but not for the right reasons.[/h]

Beer brand Republica Parrillera Pilsen has erected a billboard in Costa Rica which has been mocked on social media for its startling resemblance to the male form.
The well-intended advertisement looks perfectly appropriate from the front, depicting a sausage on a skewer alongside an image of a beer bottle.
However drivers approaching the sign from the other direction are treated to a wholly more eye-catching view.

An honest mistake or well-played gimmick to attract attention?
One Reddit user is decided, commenting: “This will be played by the media and the company will increase its revenue, I’m almost sure about that.”
Another added: “I think that’s absolutely intentional

Any thoughts on the 2006 shiraz?

Would guess it is the Murray Street Vineyards 2006 Sophia Shiraz. $120 on their site, 94 from Halliday, another retailer site confirms 15% alcohol. Not a lot of other clues to go on but probably not too many $120 2006 Shiraz still on sale at wineries and this seems to fit most of the available clues.

Not cork though?

I have no idea what it could be but took the plunge for my first Vinomofo purchase. I figure it's a good price for an '06 Barossa Shiraz and I needed to spend some money to make the $500 minimum to get my bonus QFF points on my new Commbank card ;)

My own opinion of it is that its not a wow wine fwiw

The Black Label Cab will reward those patient enough to cellar for 10+ years, esp. now they're in stelvins. I had an 03 (cork) Tuesday night and it was eminently drinkable. Good value in the mid $20 IMHO, but it is no Bordeaux, and not intended to be.

Really enjoyed the 2008 last weekend.

I haven't sampled it yet. Will give my impression tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure it is overpriced at $50, but that's not what I paid. And if it's sub-par, it's going straight back :)

You tried it yet? Thoughts? Mine just arrived but haven't had a chance to try (Hungerford Hill Wines - 2011 Collection Hunter Valley Shiraz)

I have. First few sips were disappointing, but it slowly opened up. Big jammy punch of plum, followed by lots of wet grass and a long lingering hit of marzipan. It's a little different from the abundance of Shiraz I already have, and I think this will benefit greatly from a few years under the bed. The missus liked it too.

I'd be spitting if I paid $65 for it though.

Agree with Abha93. It's a quality wine with an unusual taste. However given the sort of big name quality drops you can get for $65, I wouldn't have paid $65 for it. $30 would be fine. $19.50's a good price IMHO but the taste may not be to everyone's taste so to speak
