Price matches, alcohol does not...not that VM is always perfect on the details.

From what I could find the alcohol was different on the Pinot Gris, but I couldnt find anything to tell me the alcohol on the Pinot Grigio. My basic understanding of the difference between the two is that one gets oak while the other doesn't (I assume they made some of each from the same grapes). Putting the grape juice in a barrel vs stainless should'nt change the alcohol content - although I am not a chemist. Maybe I am overthinking this and the answer is as you suggest, a typo by either the winery or VM.

Salvation Case 19 has landed - each dozen contains one 96pt red!‏

$130.

The last one of these I got was around number 6.

Looking to try something that I might not normally buy, so I'm in!

Wynns Day came and went and tonight was at my local Vintage cellars and tried the newest. the 2013 shiraz was good, but the 2013 cabernet was very good.

Are you referring to the entry level wines Bee or Black Label?

Rocket, black label ones for both of them. I used to get into wynns a while ago and now only have the odd 2002-2009 lying around. I have never had VM's recent Wynns Lane.

I thought I would just add this note when I returned after the footy. I picked this little number up during the aforementioned tasting at VintageCellars.

I have had a few Elena Brooks wines and they have all been very good.

2013 Sister's Run Epiphany McLaren Vale Shiraz just won a Platinum Medal at the Critics Challenge International Wine Competition 2015 in the USA. It was awarded 95 Points and here is what judge Rich Cook had to say: "A big, bold expression of Shiraz that shows lots of oak, but it's very tasty oak that compliments vibrant blackberry, tar and mint flavors. There's a citric vibe to the acidity that keeps...

I read this in the morning, so the impulse buy. At $13.25 a bott, it's the real deal. Nice body, nice dark fruit, oaky but not too much, very enjoyable, if a little dry on the finish. It's normally about $18-$20, but punches above its weight. Very different, as expected considering the terroir to a Barossan.
