Vinomofo Wine Deals

I can't find any other chardonnays that scored JH 97pts from WA, with other matching details. Everything else costs more than $40/bottle. I concur that it's Willoughby Park.

I got it wrong, was at a place a bit closer to margs, got the year wrong so that put me down a different path, some things added up but still knew something was wrong

Is it such a bargain? Not $406 BUT $390, that's only $16 off.
Are others so rare as the Serrat?

Agree, not a great bargain. In fact, checking on a few different sites, I could buy the 6 bottles for under the $390 price. But you have very high quality wines in the one mixed pack - whereas you would need to buy a case of 12 to get each of these, if they aren't already sold out.

The Serrat is sold out everywhere.

I must admit, I did a bit of a double take on the price.

I love the Yarra Yering, but a little too exxy for me.

I might be able to help it sell out, just bought 4 cases.

And for others buying some, I encountered a problem with trying to order multiple cases.

I think they are trying to limit the number people can purchase. You can't add more than 1 case to your order.

I had to make separate orders and pay for separate postage on each. These additional orders may be cancelled. But I can't see anything about a limit on these.

The Serrat was selling for $160++ at Langtons last week, so if you're after that, then I think it's a good deal. Most of the others are $50+ especially if you want just a bottle or two. I don't think this is pitched at people looking for a discount but rather people looking for a bottle of each. Also ran into the ordering problem Dr Ralph did. Will have to see if they cancel additional orders.

Wow that's how many multiples from $42.
Is it a harbinger of "crash" to come as in previous tech crash.
Every tom, dick and harry into wines that sell for astronomical sums.

Its time for a good old VM gripe. I have spent approx $30,000 (yes zeros correct) with VM and have been a buyer since the very early days when it was a deal a day and a tipping point before the deal was on and Andre was the guy on phone support. For the last 12 months I have been trying to get VIM emails and a broker who will just email me when they have Pinot Noir Straight Grenache or Semillon available. Got nowhere. Then early in August I purchased 12 x Rosso di Montalcino Il Poggione Sangiovese 2010 which I really wanted and it said dispatched after 7th August. I got an email on 5th August (2 days before the dispatch saying the courier had damaged the wine and there was no stock to replace it and here.s your refund (load of Croc obviously). Its like they went down a cul-de-sac 12 months ago and can't find their way back. There's my gripe in a nutshell. Has anybody else had this experience ? Don't bag me its just my experience !

not really. I presume very small quantities are selling for $160. Someone will pay lots for a few bottles of wine of the year.

I haven't spent $30K, but my spend is $10K+

I've certainly had similar experiences. They just don't value loyal customers. I've been very clear in my instructions of what I want and when I want it and they fail to understand and/or comply.

As I've indicated recently, my purchases with the Fo are way down this year.

Thanks Dr Ralph. I'm not alone. I still hold out hope as I still have a sense of brand loyalty to VM as over the years they have blessed me with some good wines and some good deals. I still have probably 550 of their wines cellared and never purchased much outside VM till approx 12 Months ago when I decided I would rather pay more elsewhere and ended up buying Bordeaux. Barola, Barbaresco, Montalcino, etc and my wallet took a hit in the process but boy am I enjoying it. If they just gave me VIM emails only (not the others) and a good broker I would be a happy camper

I see your point, but the company is clearly going down a "the more, the merrier" path and attention to the most loyal customers slips when this is the case. Is it fair? Probably not, but if they get 30,000 of their customers (that's less than 10% of current members) to buy one case of wine, that's already $300K. You're a little drop in a big ocean on that logic.

As a consumer you have the luxury to buy what you want, when you want, where you want. Just as you may think they're not being loyal to you, you owe them absolutely no loyalty either.
