Vinomofo Wine Deals

Re: Black Market Pinot Noir 2010 $50 down to $15 Yarra Valley

My broker assures me there's nothing untoward and they're getting loaded up today or worst case by the end of the week.

Theres a big difference between Tueday and Friday, for something that was meant to be delivered last week.

No need to wait till next time, it's still on:

Are you guys and gals suggesting this is the Innocent Bystander Mea Culpa Shiraz 12: 2012 Mea Culpa Shiraz | Buy & Order Online

If it is, then I am looking forward to this one. It was a BOOM as soon as I read: "Brilliant ruby-red. Sexy, high-pitched aromas of black raspberry, Indian spices, violet and smoked meat, with an intense mineral overtone; smells a lot like a Cote-Rotie, and a really good one at that" [to quote Josh Raynolds, International Wine Cellar]

Indeed we are.

Re: Black Market Pinot Noir 2010 $50 down to $15 Yarra Valley

I did so yesterday but no reply yet!

I think this might be one of the most anticipated Fo wines in a while. It will be interesting to see whether we all think it is:

- a Fo Deal (of their usual excellent standards), or

- a Fo (faux) Pas

...

Re: Black Market Pinot Noir 2010 $50 down to $15 Yarra Valley

If that was true, then why the extended delay?

Unfortunately this approach from VM is becoming more frequent.

In all seriousness Doc, does it really matter, an extra 3 days, an extra week ? You know it's coming, that's guaranteed to about 99%. Now if it's stuck on the nullabor for 2 weeks, then I'd be a little despondent but personally, I would open up something else and wait.

It does matter. It's called misleading and deceptive conduct. Have a look at section 18 of the ACL. You can't promise something and then fail to deliver.

More importantly it goes towards their integrity, or lack of it. Unfortunately it's not the first time they've done it. One of my recent orders took more than 3 weeks to arrive. Because of this and other similar experiences my VM buying is down about 50% on what it was last year.

Hi Dr Ralph

Slightly cheaper than the Baroness - VM had one about that Irvine sells for about $30 down to about $10 at VM- It was Irvine - I had the 2 hands Merlot a few years ago from winemarket and found it a good drop - If the Irvine was ok as a quaffer at that price I was looking into it - My broker said they still had some

My Mea Culpa arrived today, so I have high confidence that it is indeed the IB Mea Culpa. I know I am going out on a limb here, but damn the torpedos.

Re: Vinomofo Wine Deals - Ulithorne Familia

Hi all, first post from new member here, enjoying the general discussion and banter. Whilst not usually a big fan of shiraz, I took a chance on the Ulithorne Familia, which arrived yesterday. Opened as a clean, fresh style, with good varietal character. Rather elegant palate, not big, rich or plummy. I would not have bought at CD for $40, but at $12 from VM, a bargain!
Thanks for the ID, I shall do my best to contribute.

Mine's gone to an anticipated delivery date of Wednesday 21st now and my broker's MIA.

Mine also shows 21/10, but the order is now "picking" rather than "processing" so we have progress.

Re: Black Market Pinot Noir 2010 $50 down to $15 Yarra Valley

Mine has also progressed to "picking" and should arrive on the 22nd, almost 4 weeks after ordering. Not sure that it is completely wise to rely on their new tracking system though. My last delivery showed my wine was in transit in Werribee for two days. I almost rang the RACV to let them know there was a truck broken down and a driver possibly stranded on the side of the road with only wine to drink

Mine is showing 22/10 on Vinomofo's page, but actually when I track it from Nexday with my order number, it is expected to be delivered this Friday 16/10!

Mine shows delivery on the 19th. It also confirms the wine to be "Mitolo Cantiniere Shiraz 2"
