Vinomofo Wine Deals

Any ideas as to what the $9.90 2014 Shiraz from Mount Barker is ($33 RRP)? It's a restock but I can't find it after a search. I assumed it would be a Capel vale but doesn't match any of their offerings.

It's the Capel Vale 2014 Cellar Exclusive Mount Barker Shiraz. My case arrived.

Nothing amazing but for the price it's quite acceptable. Wouldn't pay $33 for it.

I haven't tried it, but the new release tag has got me a little worried......i guess unless you go bang and try, you will never know. Tho is the same crowd who make devils whiskers, and that 'is don,is very good'. This one I think retails for more...dunno as I am using my phone. Now if this retails for more, and then tastes less, Houston we have a problem. Just got my star lane sixer shiraz delivered, mitolo returns very soon. They way I see it, a free bot is total justification for the mucking around. However, it would have tasted better, for my palate, if it was a fox and hounds. Then again I would have kept them

this Kangarilla is coming my way after discussion with the winery. It sounds really good and the big difference is the minerality in the wine derived from its one area only cultivation. The brother wine Devils Whiskers is a fantastic shiraz blended from 3 areas, so why the hell not. After my chat, I am left with the impression that this is not some hotchy potchy VM made wine.

Thanks Hillsgirl - this checks out exactly. Any chance you've tried it yet?

I tried it tonight and I though that it will be a good idea to get a case. But as I checked out the Golding Wines website, I saw that the one from the boombox is the export product while the one on VM is the domestic market one. Two different wines with different winemakers.
The one I tasted, 'The Exchange' 2013 is very easy to drink for a Chardonnay. Quite light but very nice to drink. Not a big wine but if it was the one in the VM offer at $10.50 I will have surely get a case.

I see in the current listing it's got a stamp on the graphic, proudly proclaiming its 93 points from, um, well, actually it doesn't say. VM's equivalent of the Dan Murphy's Wine Panel, a.k.a. the marketing department, no doubt. Gee that's a bit cynical.

Totally agree, I returned mine. So much for them only putting up wines they enjoy themselves. They must have tried that one out in the desert I think...

Good point, but after the mitolo and tomich episodes, I did more checking. Furthermore, recent alleged comments suggest JH might give raspberry cordial a 90 !!

McGuigan appear to be a low end producer...so many wines under $10 or $20

Looks like the Kangarilla was the Alluvial Fans shiraz....

Vino sold it back in August with the same description etc. I believe this is the one where they included "Kangarilla Road Alluvial" in the email newsletter URL!
