Totally agree, I returned mine. So much for them only putting up wines they enjoy themselves. They must have tried that one out in the desert I think...
As did I. Really not a fan of that one.

I see in the current listing it's got a stamp on the graphic, proudly proclaiming its 93 points from, um, well, actually it doesn't say. VM's equivalent of the Dan Murphy's Wine Panel, a.k.a. the marketing department, no doubt. Gee that's a bit cynical.
Funny you say that. I would call myself a "fresh" wine connoisseur, meaning I'm relatively new to it all, but boy did I get stung by the dan murphys wine panel in my early days. Picked a couple of bottles that they'd rated very high (95 - 97) and each of them to this day were the worst wines I have drank. Majority of them were International wines too (French Syrah, Spanish Tempranillo and Chilean Pinot).
Me too. These days I now check:
- these Wine Lovers Threads, and
- Vivino.
You usually get a more real view on a wine, although I do take an averaging approach, as some will overly rave about a wine or really hate it as it is not to their tastes, but you usually get a fair idea on a wine. The expert rating, coupled with the above information usually helps me to decide whether to spend Mrs Wozza's retirement pot money and have her work a little longer or to give her a well-deserved break, and take a few weeks off that retirement date.
Vino sold it back in August with the same description etc. I believe this is the one where they included "Kangarilla Road Alluvial" in the email newsletter URL!

Pretty sure it's McGuigan 'The Shortlist'. I'm interested if anyone has tried and has a view.
Not a lot good words coming through for the 2011 - expected given the year as well I guess. Amusing, if not entirely unsurprising, that I think it had 93 points from HallidayIts ok, watery and lacking depth if it's the 2011...
Got the mixed premium black market case delivered this morning. Two of the Mitolo Cantiniere in there... I'll try one out and see if it's up to the terrible expectations presented here!
