Wow - that's a big call BeeFarmer! I hope you're right because I just got a case. FOMOMOFO.
Being a Cab Shiraz/Shiraz Cab and also a glenlofty/Pyrenees fan, I'm going to take a punt. Their website actually lists the 2009 Studio Ink at $30 per bottle ($360 per dozen).
I keep saying I'm going to buy the fox Gordon when it reappears (which it has), but this deal has my attention for now.
So my Glenlofty Cabernet turned up today and being the patient guy I am I cracked one this evening. Here are my first impressions. Deep red with a lightly perfumed but predominantly oaky nose. Medium bodied palate, some berries in the mix but with some seriously grippy, drying tannins. Would not be everyone's cup of tea with those tannins (pun intended). I think this wine needs time in the bottle and even then I wonder if the fruit will ever be enough to come to the fore, or if it will fade away before the tannins adequately soften. Lets see what a couple of hours open does to the wine.

pourqui le question mon ami ?Has the Fo changed their money back guarantee?
Can't justify the price asked. Too big a risk given some previous highly discounted VM failures.

Great - looking forward to sampling whenever mine gets delivered (apparently Friday).
Yarra Valley Pinot was a bust. Tasted like watery sugar free red cordial. Zero structure, zero depth. Will be going back tomorrow, it's junk. I would be ashamed to give it to anyone and call it wine.
On the other hand, drinking a Jones block Shiraz in celebration of the SO's final exam.
This wine is impossible. I'm sure there are way more out there like it and I am just starting to find the good stuff, but this is other level. How is it grapes?
Looking forward to this journey
Yeah, I'm confident it's the Montevecchio Rosso. I got a dozen of the 2012, something a little different and a very good quaffer / food wine for the price, but it was rated 94 by JH; I haven't seen any reviews of the 2013.
I am guessing that a 24hr decantation is starting to alter it and you're going to let us know after 2 nights....
I started writing this when I found your original note starting from the earlier pages...I missed the middle and started backwards after the post,,,,,,,so I reckon I hit the nail on the head........try night 2 and 3. these Victorian wines are naturally higher in acidity which means them last longer, but are a little unapproachable young. It sounds like its a put away job, but do describe another nights decantation. They always say once a king always a king but once a knight is enough for a sip. is there any left for another night more importantly.
Gee I'm a bit slow - I've been using pricepal and cashrewards but I didn't realise cash back was available from the FO - thanks Wozza
+2 !
They are both good for the price, but I agree, the oak is too dominant on the GL (I think I said it was a bit green at the end). The Westward is much more balanced - what a great wine for the price.
Any ideas on this one? https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/mof_-secret-deal-shiraz-2013-17a98212

Fascinating. I'd never heard of that. I'd pay $10 for tasting glass of such a thing. Not sure I'd take a punt on a whole bottle, let alone a six pack, even at this price. Obviously a divisive style, as Campbell Mattinson (who of course nowadays seems to himself be providing a good portion of the new reviews on the Halliday site) reviewed it a lot less favourably here: Thousand Candles 2011 | The Wine Front ... If I wanted to try an oddball wine on VM right now, I'd probably conclude I might as well go with that (presumed to be Chalmers) Italian Red Blend...
Looks like the Salvation case has a bottle included, for those looking to sample.
