Vinomofo Wine Deals

If it is half as good as the Maverick Trial Hill Shiraz we bought some weeks back you are on to a winner.

We opened our second bottle of that on Saturday it was so good to drink...

The BLACK MARKET DEAL Bordeaux Blend 2012 listed today for $7.50 a bottle (down from $25) and described as:

"If you’ve got roast beef, slow-cooked lamb or herb-stuffed chook on the Christmas menu this year, we’ve got the perfect wine to make your day that much merrier. Plus, at only $7.50 a bottle, consider this our early gift to you.

Just as it’s never too premature for the big retail stores to start putting up Christmas decor (in August...) - we think it's fair to say that it’s definitely not too early to get your Christmas wine-list ready. A time to give, this Barossa Bordeaux blend was definitely made for sharing. Crafted by a famous 5 red star winery (that will be well-known to your family and friends), this is a medium to full-bodied powerhouse red that's brooding with notes of blackcurrant, briary fruit, tobacco and black olives, and one that impresses with lip-smacking Christmas cake spices, lovely textured tannins and a succulent, savoury finish...

Now, if you could please excuse us, we're off to find some food and wine because we've self-inflicted simultaneous feelings of hunger and thirst. "

Appears to be the Maverick Twins that was on a few weeks ago.

Maverick is a quality producer. Definitely recommend at that price.

Just sopke to Jane* at the Fo and can confirm this is the Maverick Twins.
A case is on its way. Thanks Dr Ralph for the recommendation.

thankyou hachoo....my brother split a case with me of this one a while back....it is truly sensational, in fact i reckon it could retail for more but thats another story. I have already had two bottles about 6-8 weeks ago. Just lush, beautifully integrated, and if you get into the story/winery etc like i do with my purchases, then you know the blokes behind this are incredible. I suggest everyone buy this product and share a half case, and from a few VM deals i have bought (i must say i am reading threads i dont like to hear about poor quality, the hit and miss that seems to be impinging, atleast allegedly), this glenlofty is the best...and funny enough the cheapest. I have mentioned about the shelmerdine 2010 single vineyard shiraz that sells for $65. That was a very nice drop with huge finesse... A big call, but i think the glenlofty is better ! Thanks again hachoo, just saw the 'Boom" sign. cheers mate !

do a bit of research and a crowd in sydney are doing the 2012 Feet First cab/merlot and the 2012 SSB for $30/6.......yes. Sure it's a bit of a punt but at these prices, I was in for 6 of each. Hopefully they will be OK. I did a bit of looking after i saw the VM deal....

Assuming it was the Schild, Their 2011 Shiraz was poor IMHO... 2011 was a bad year in the Barossa due to weather, and The Schild Shiraz was quite average.

2012 might be better, haven't tasted it.

Got it today. Schild 2012. From all reports 2012 was definitely a better year than 2011 in the Barossa, so I'll give it a try tonight.

Anybody know any more?

Just got the wine delivered, actually it's two cases (6 each) of Fox Gordon King Louis 2012! Cheers.

Awesome! That's what I thought. I actually contacted them after it was 'sold out' to see if they had any left. All gone it's such a good deal.

Latest VIM "Contraband" deal: mof_ CONTRABAND Deal Riesling 2013 - White Wine

Matches the Jeanneret Big Fine Girl Clare Valley 2013 Riesling.

I was about to post the same, but you beat me to it... Going for it?

Schild 2012 is great! Certainly for such a young wine. With a $25 credit I got it for ~$6.90 a bottle and for that price, it's a very good deal. Even at RRP I would be pretty happy with it.

Everyone is different; I paid the same price with a referral but ~$12 max is what I would pay - it does benefit from a bit of air however.

It's definitely IMO a decent wine for under $10, a good decant for an hour opens it up a little. Wouldn't want to pay full price although around $18-$20 is probably where it should be sitting at full rrp. Paid more for worse.

No, wine budget stretched to the limit this month. Plus I still have a few Grosset Rieslings I'd rather drink first :P

I am also tempted, but have more than enough wine at home... I need to speed up drinking (or giving) and reduce buying

Sorry, I've searched and searched through the thread - anyone know what the 2008 Cabernet Merlot from Margies is?

Not sure which wine you are referring to. Can you at least put the price, the date of the offer, a URL or the description of the product?

Sorry - the $7.80 ($26 retail) with 14% alc:

In important news, I recently turned my beer-loving husband onto wine. And wow, what progress we’ve made in one week. How did it all start? Well... with this dual 90pt Cabernet Merlot (not that he knew or cared).
Made by a boutique WA producer (that we can reveal has featured on the ‘Fo), this is a medium-bodied and structured Cab blend that’s friendly enough to convert passionate beer drinkers into wine-loving mof_s (and we've got substantial evidence). Jam-packed with blackcurrant, plum and cherry with mint, subtle tannins and a firm lingering finish, this is a ready to serve red that's proven to satisfy wine newbies and connoisseurs alike.
