Black Market Margaret River shiraz 2014 $25 -> $12.50
Vinomofo - Black Market Shiraz 2014 - Red Wine
Halliday 94, 5-star winery, "x-factor"
McHenry Honen Rocky Road
Tried this one last night and wish I'd bought more - an excellent wine for the price. Has plenty of cellaring potential but already drinking well. Hoping it's offered again!

Hi roshea, just came across the same wine being offered by Justwines McHenry Hohnen Rocky Road Shiraz 2014 Margaret River - 6 Pack It's $17.99 a bottle but there is a 9.10% Cash Rewards cashback so around $16 or so a bottle, not as cheap but worth a look by the sound of it, plus $9.00 delivery, wish I had read your description earlier!

It was still there so, all good :)
I wanted to check cellardoor.co but wasn't able to do so. Do I need to be invited by a member or something?
Yes, you need an invite to Cellardoor.co - have a look for one in the referral threads

Mule hasn't quite been the same since they separated from Giant Steps, the 2016 was ok for the Fo asking price but it isnt a $42 bottle anymore. That's my two pennies!

Tried the Mule over the weekend. Thought it was familiar, had the 2016 towards the end of last year. Drank this one over three nights. Night one my first thoughts were of a smoky aroma/taste, maybe some cigar in there, dark fruit and spice. Not really, my cup of tea. Night two, the wine had softened and was more to my taste. There was only a small glass left by night three but it was by then pretty flat.

$42 would be pretty steep. I understand the sale price in the dozen was around $13/bottle. If you like that kind of style then sale price seems to be fair.

We drank a Mule a couple of years back and decided it needed more time. Haven't visited it again since. Split a case with my mum and she found it didn't agree with her which was interesting.

Thanks for your impressions RD, it's always nice to have a more personalised viewpoint rather than the VM hype or expert reviews, there seems to be quite a decent backlog of wine out there at the moment so we remain spoilt for choice and consequently even more selective:cool:

Anyone know what this one is?

Black Market Cabernet Malbec 2013 $70 > $29.90
Vinomofo - Black Market Cabernet Malbec 2013 - Red Wine

I have narrowed it down to a couple but each has something that doesn't match up:
Houghton CW Ferguson Great Southern Cabernet Malbec
Larry Cherubino Ad Hoc Avant Gardening Frankland Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec

and saw on cellary.co a suggestion that it was this:
Juniper Estate Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon

Possibly/probably Rosenthal Garten Series Cabernet Sauvignon, more likely than Capel Vale.
I'd be confident it's the Rosenthal Garten Series. Matches on price, Halliday score & special value star, and much of the description.

VM: berries, bay leaf, dark choccy and plums ... huuuuuge potential if you chuck it in the cellar.
Halliday: blackcurrant, bay leaf, dark chocolate and a touch of plum ... an unbeatable proposition for cellaring.

.
Recently bought the secret deal from JD Cellars which was the Rosenthal Garten Series Shiraz and very glad I did, for around $12 a bottle from memory it is still young and vibrant and quite complex especially after a good breathe, I imagine the CS could be equally quaffable....

Cracked open our last Giant Steps Merlot on the weekend and found it to taste like one might expect lighter fluid to taste. I think we had only one good bottle from the entire case....
