I think this one is the Maverick Greenock Rise Shiraz
Maverick Greenock Rise was marketed previously as being from Barossa Valley. FWIW I bought some of the original release. I would suggest Trial Hill shiraz. Cheers Rug

In regard to the mitolo - any comment on it?

Already have a lot of Shiraz with recent buys of Amelia Park and Andevine that are both great buys.

Can anyone comment as previously this has had mixed reviews and the thought it was made for VM specifically. Thanks

I didn't mind it, I picked up a case before any of the reviews came in. I've only tried the 2016, but found it interesting - slight caramel, spicy sort of twist. Make sure to give it a few hours air. Would also benifit from a few (many) years. I kept my case. Also new review just in from Patrick Eckel 94 Points 2016 Mitolo Cantiniere Shiraz. Starting to see it sold outside the VM market, such as Smashvino.

I'm interested to hear what people say about the Mitolo Cantiniere Shiraz because the previous vintage was pretty average and didn't go down too well with the peeps on this forum. For my own account and that of some of friends it tasted like a liquified black forest gateau. Way too rich.

Just opened the Mitolo. There definitely is a bit of Black Forest gateaux, but for initial opening of a young wine, I reckon it’s pretty good for the price. Waiting to see what it brings when it opens up more. Was almost going to buy another case but it’s gone ☹️

I bought 2 cases and I am undecided whether to return at least one. It is a definite McLaren Vale Shiraz, however is it as described and worth the original price? Which would lead to the next question can I buy better $22 dollar wines .Well maybe I will continue to sip my through this before deciding .I agree it is still showing its young age, however glass 2 has settled a bit. Definite spice, cherries and blackberries, guess that would settle for Black Forrest :)

Have to say, whether you would pay the original price is kind of irrelevant when you didn't. RRP is frequently just a marketers fantasy. It's never meant much so I just don't understand why so many people attach so much relevance to it.
