Vinomofo Wine Deals

AustPost conveniently left my delivery at the front door, where it sat for 4 hours on a warm afternoon. As a result I have had 'words' with the delivery centre who will pass on my concerns.
May I suggest you apply for a Parcel Collect number so any parcels being delivered by Post will be left at your nominated Post Office. You also get email and SMS notifications advising you of a parcel awaiting collection.
I have used this service for quite some time and it's fabulous.

This option isnt available everywhere.

I don't know of a Post Office where this service is not available.
Are you thinking of Parcel Lockers which is a different service?

Nope. There are around 3600 locations that offer parcel collect, but there are 4,356 post office locations across Australia. So about 17% or 1 in 6 of post office's do not allow this option.

A great suggestion!

I also do this so that when I'm travelling wine doesn't sit on my doorstep for days or weeks awaiting my return. As a courtesy I tell my PO that I'm away.
Am a bit embarrassed to say my local PO (which is a major regional one - not your average suburban one) knows my name and address without me needing to show my license these days.

Well you know you are on a recognised basis when they ask you do you need the hand dolly before you present the pickup card...

I have a basic PO Box at my local Post Office - I use this address to send parcels to. If it HAS to be couriered to a street address Couriers will often drop parcel at Post Office if no-one home.

I've been scratching my head somewhat over this one currently on VM's BM Black Market Shiraz 2017 - Red Wine | Vinomofo Australia The blurb includes "Boutique Clare Valley producer" and it's a 5 red star winery but it also says "The grapes here come from Ebenezer, known locally as ‘Grange country’ thanks to the quality of shiraz from here. It’s certainly Barossa through and through." Anyway I have enjoyed various reds from Ebenezer district before but can't nail down the maker, any ideas chaps?

Both my former and current LPOs have known me well enough to not need ID etc. The new one only took a few weeks of regular visits.

That price point & the Clare Valley / Ebenezer combo screams Kilikanoon to me.

I've got to agree with you on that having googled all the Clare Valley producers that have a 5 red star rating but couldn't see a match on Halliday's site (although I know that doesn't necessarily mean that much) but it appears that it is probably Kilikanoon Testament Barossa Valley Shiraz 2017 | The Australian Wine The thing that threw me is that VM make it sound like a straight Ebenezer shiraz but the producer on their own site mentions Greenock as well. You do have to wonder how a $45 RRP wine from the current vintage can be flogged off at $15 a bottle despite the previous vintage having "sold out"....

It just doesn’t mention at what price point it “sold out”

I had considered that concussed but it is still possible to buy the 2016 at Laithwaites (6 bottle min.) and Virgin Wines (12 bottle minimum) for $38.25 so hardly giving it away...

There is no Sam Kim note for 2017 Kilikanoon on his site.
I thought it could be this one, although it doesn't mention Ebenezer,
Atlas
Sophie's Block Shiraz 2017
Rating: 94
Gorgeously stylish, this delectably composed shiraz shows mixed berry compote, black cherry, dark chocolate, cedary wood and cake spice characters on the nose. The palate is equally engaging and gratifying with excellent depth and intensity, wonderfully complemented by silky mouthfeel and supple tannins. Seamless and mouthfilling. At its best: now to 2027. AU$25.00. www.atlaswines.com.au. Dec 2018.

The 2013 Atlas 516° BAROSSA VALLEY SHIRAZ came from Ebenezer and VM had an Atlas Block 126 McLaren Vale Shiraz 2016 a while back. The Block 126 2017 also scored 94 from Sam Kim, maybe it will be next up. (Neither on the Atlas site, so maybe "made for VM".)
