Vinomofo Wine Deals

34185 matches Rosenthal the Richings better than IronRock, although The Richings is $60 on the winery site.
Iron Rock matches on 5 red stars and price. 95 points in wine companion.
Rosenthal is 5 black stars but not listed in wine companion for2018 Richings.
I believe your earlier post is correct. Cheers

VM listing says 5-star, not red star. 34185 listing now says 96 pts.
Richings Frankland River Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 This is something special. Harmony through
and through with everything in place from the cassis and spice flavours to the French oak (40% new)
aged 14 months, seamlessly integrated and behaving. It’s more mid-weighted, lithe, with beautifully
shaped and savoury tannins. Screwcap. 14.5% alc. Rating 96 To 2033 $60 JF * (special value)

All these different deal numbers are getting confusing here, interleaved, hard to follow, even on my Forum where there is a separate thread for each deal this one is a bit of a mess..

And this one is probably The Richings Shiraz 2018
Richings Frankland River Shiraz 2018 There’s a lot of polish and gloss partly from the 40% new
French oak, aged 13 months, but mostly from the perfectly ripe fruit within. This has a depth of flavour
without going over the top. Savoury with chiselled tannins and a vibrant acid line. Very stylish
offering for now and years to come. Screwcap. 14.6% alc. Rating 96 To 2030 $60 JF * (special value)

VM are not exactly truthful with their blurbs. Some are cut and paste and others are a mix of fact and marketing. You are right it is messy. The Iron Rock blurb from Willoughby Park says 15 to 20 years. 15 years also takes you to 2033

Ironrock Cabernet 2018 only 95 pts and not tagged special value.
Ironrock Kalgan River Albany Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 Curranty fruit flavour has just started to
mellow but it still feels authoritative. This impression is aided by a sturdy framework of peppercornstudded
tannin. Though the fruit is not overt, it continues to flow seamlessly out through the finish. A
pretty classy wine, made to endure. Screwcap. 14.5% alc. Rating 95 To 2035 $55 CM

interesting how they have wines such as that in their shop and catalogue, which do not seem to also appear in their product library nor press reviews compilation

Very interesting! Also interesting that a snapshot of their web page from late 2019 doesn't mention a Grenache Shiraz blend

So what's the conspiracy theory here? Is it "made for mof_"?
There are a few other 2019 vintage wines they make that are not on that list. They also had Wizard and Farmer Shiraz at a similar price point recently, it is in the archive list.
The TWF TN for Summer Road is from June 20, they don't usually send MFM wines to TWF.

I think it's worth pointing out that it might be "made for mof_" - some of us have been burned before :-)

"New" wine, recent appearance on the web site but Sold Out without any apparent public release - anyone else remember the first Mitolo Cantiniere?
