Vinomofo Wine Deals

Buying from VM is a bit like a lottery, but at least it's hardly a severe burn/risk, you get your money back if you don't win.
Yes, worth noting the possibility of MFM, but from a credible maker with a credible (if not entirely glowing) TN (and not Sam Kim!), it's a little premature to judge the possible qpr of the wine.

the quality or credibility of the wine, producer, or review is not the issue

it is advertising what the full price is from the producer - has it actually ever been truly available from, let alone sold by, the producer at full price?

which of course could then lead to ACL section 29 - false or misleading representations

Many wine sellers over many years have done the same thing and probably to a worse extent. It's still too small for ACCC or anyone else to take any specific action. No names, but there are a couple of merchants that are mentioned here occasionally that I will never buy from due to dodgy dealings of this and other types, including one who sourced a wine from a (well-known) winemaker who blended two medal winning wine leftovers and told the merchant they could advertise the wine as winning the medals from both components. They did. I still have the emails from the winemaker and merchant documenting that one.

Giesen Clayvin maybe ??
Probably, the Sam Kim score matches and they had the 2015 (and 2013) previously.
Also scored Gold at New Zealand International Wine Competition 2018

And best of all, big and not sickly.
You will like.
I want a review.

Hi all, yes, just confirming that the case I am referring to (from the Black Market Deal) is a 2017 Vine Vale Road Shiraz, not a Grenache Shiraz. I thought it was good value, and the limited info available online, including the review posted above, seem to suggest it's been quite well received.

Interested to hear some more reviews on here, though!

Also, I am skeptical re VM prices and alleged discount amounts. And it's disappointing to have to be that way. I've been approaching it on the basis that if a particular bottle has multiple positive reviews from seemingly reputable places, I'll just assess the price against what I'd be prepared to pay for a bottle of that quality. Seems to have worked so far. But, it does limit me from choosing potentially less well-known wines that might be very nice (such as the VVR shiraz, which was a decent win!).

Has anyone tried this? $14.50 per bottle - $174 / 12pk
I got the Maverick Twins shiraz (2017 I think) a couple of years ago and that was excellent, still have a few.

Yes, I posted earlier in this thread. Not my style, very savoury.

I boomed based on your feedback, while the free shipping was on. BTW is it a burgundy or bordeaux bottle?

Thankfully you were not involved in the made for the Fo Mitolo cantiniere. What an absolute disaster firstly for the fact that it appeared as a normal retail selling wine, but secondly that it tasted worse than my mother in laws berry flavoured cottees cordial. It was really such a mediocre wine which probably landed in around the twenty dollar mark. Vinimofo's marketing and sales policy is by far the best ever. I asked them years ago how many refunds I had done. She replied six. I said that's not bad, how many cases did i order. You work it out? My 'keep the case' percentage was 93.81% and even though i sampled each of those six cases, they all were returned, for free, and credited. Consequently my real success rate without taking into consideration of time and effort to repackage was the same percentage we all have of being mortal. Yep, it's true and that's why i have put some serious dents, bruises, nicks, contusions in my liver in recent years because i got a little excited with the Fo's deals. Their marketing surely worked on this sucker.

But when i pull some of those out and experience them a little bit more mature, the coughels do get warmed up a bit.

That's why the Fo were so damn good and although many have spoken of a quality draught in the near near past, my two recent purchases tell me quality has returned.

Let me say I am paid a thousand dollars to write this garbage by the management of vinimofo and they have given me free wine for the rest of my life.
If you believe that , then you will believe anything and I know that you don't. This forum only has room for one fool.

Enjoy.

Any decent fuller bodied shiraz or cabernet on VM lately? Have some credit to spend. At present im eyeing off the 2010 shiraz, most probably Salomon. Although the Rosenvale Shiraz seems right up my alley as well.

So to answer your original question, the Ledge was a magnificent wine and all three went down beautifully.
Mention here was made of the farmers leap shiraz. I think I have about 2 left from the 12 and all were very good. Not too complex per se, but nothing offensive about it eaither. Great value indeed and the consistency of every bot was impressive.

I have just had 2 six packs delivered from the Fo and none were mentioned here in the last ten days or so. Barossa Black market Deal 34998.
Single vineyard, family owned down to just under$20. Rosenvale 2017 Vine vale Rd. This is a very good wine indeed, with a lot of complexity. Not fruit bomb either. nicely made and has what i have to have in full bodied(thats not to say a wine described as medium will not appeal to me as Victorian reds fall into this category a lot and they are great and fill up upon airing) and fruity. More of a firecracker or grenade than a bomb. Lovely length. Certainly worth $40, dont know about $60 as its not my area.

the other one ten days or so ago was the WA Harewood Reserve 2018 Cabernet reserve 6 pack BM deal at about $20 a bot. Only had the sampler and it was very very nice. So two out of two wins.

Kevviek, you still with Amazon? and still knocking down a few botts?

W and D, nice send back of the granite, i understand when the description doesnt meet the reality. A bit like half of these dating agencies i guess.
Better luck with the new one. Please report.
Thanks for the Rosenvale review!
I'll get a pack too.
It's in my alley if it's big and jammy. 🙏
