By the sounds of the tasting notes if it's in your price range it's likely worth a punt.

I have tried this wine and do not think it is worth the money, touch over ripe for me.

Anyone figure this?

Oh, think I've figured it. Domaine Dawnelle... at $13 after referral discount I grabbed some.

Warramunda Syrah

Aargh! Its sister the 2018 Cabernets is so delicious and tres elegant, I am very tempted to see how this one is. But I'm buying way too much wine these days. Moan

My suggestion is that you do not get tempted. But I am of course also curious on what other people think :)

Didn't live up to the Eckel review in my opinion:

I found it too sour, thin in body, uninteresting, and too short on the finish for my liking. And dubious it has the tannins to cellar to 2040.

The normal farmers leap shiraz that the Fo had was a very pleasant wine selling for something over ten bucks from memory. Great value wine. At the normal retail for this one, I would think marketing would have a lot to do with it but at the price now and with such encouraging banter, I reckon it would be worth a punt.

Speaking of the Fo's recent shiraz, the Magnus 2014 is a lovely drop, 55 down to about 23 I think, very impressed.

Good luck with your imbibing.

I’ve still got some of the farmers leap, it’s terrific drinking at the $10 mark.

I’m opening one of the Magnus tonight, very much looking forward to trying it.

I purchased their sparkling Shiraz, it had to be sent back, it had nothing going for it.

The new one appears to have been made for the Asian market so I am a little sceptical.

I'm pretty sure this one is Mr Riggs Idle Lane. Mr. Riggs Wine Co. | 2018 Idle Lane Shiraz
First offered June 23.
It may be included in the 20% off eBay Plus sale on tonight, one hour only 8-9pm AEDST.

My impressions are similar to the prior vintage I bought, it is a well-made wine, lovely bright fruit, low oak, but just lacks that plush mid-palate feel and has a fair degree of astringency, even with food, fresh acid finish just within bounds. Maybe it just needs a year or too to settle into itself a bit more, at a bit over $12 on eBay Plus it is a tempting proposition for short-term cellaring.

Well there you go... this one turned out to be the Riversdale Estate Chardonnay 2016: 2016 Riversdale Chardonnay

Sorry to my forum comrades for the bum steer!

I'll see what it's like, take an open mind and not be shy to return (but at the price it could still be a steal).
