Vinomofo Wine Deals

Crikey blacky have you ever caused a stir in VM today - akin to WW3 to be precise. Just got off phone with S - NO WAY to get access to VIM (Very Important mof_s) unless you meet the spend criteria - NO WAY can you chop and change your assigned VM rep - me and my big mouth.

And did you ask exactly what the spending criteria is? Many have given answers but no-one seemed to have a definitive answer.

Thanks for trying anyway. Hard to spend when I can't buy what I want :p

I think they would of course be on commission so changing reps not liked by the one you have dumped.

How does it work for those of us who don't have a Rep?
Never had one. Got a cold call once and said if I got another I wouldn't buy a single bottle of wine. Maybe that was the Rep? Who knows

Quite likely. Maybe send an email and ask? Mine told me to add the number he called on to my phone as its his direct number.

You prolly need to up the ante on purchases PF and you might just find yourself with a rep - mind you Rule #27 for cold calling clearly states if customer says 'If you ever call me again I will never buy another bottle of wine from your company' - well that tends to scare them off - so I have heard anyway!

Doesnt seem to have become available for us plebs :-|

I wouldn't give up hope yet. There's still stock available. The VIM deal link says that it's a available for just over another 2 days. So may appear more widely after that time.

I ordered 2 cases today.

Maybe. But the subject header line in the email states "VIM exclusive blah blah....and you get first (and only) dibs.." So maybe they are confident that it will sell out in the next day and a half.

I have just helped that process along by ordering a 2 cases. Sorry.

Not what I want to hear!

I've had various VM people call me - every single time it seems to be another person, so I gathered that they weren't particularly long lasting in the job. It doesn't seem to be particularly hard to get a "rep" - drop them an email and they'll probably assign you one.

I asked not to be called, because none of ones I spoke to seemed to know much about wine (well, certainly not the higher-end stuff I tend to buy). On the other hand, I've had the same guy at Langtons for >4 years now who keeps tabs on what I buy each year and gets in touch with the following year's vintage, plus seems to have access to a bunch more hard-to-get stuff than other places.

I essentially said similar. I loathe these wine folks who call you. Have put the blacklist feature on my iPhone to good use to avoid them.

Maybe that's why they've put me on the VIM list and never called again :p

Any of you MEL folk that I know who want some of the HMH I am happy to buy them for you - means you will need to collect from Cheltenham or Parkdale and will forgo any pts earn but totally up to you guys.

I've been catching up on this thread and never actually realised that VIM meant something.

(a quick search of my mailbox reveals I've been getting VIM emails for a while now)

They've never called me AFAIK though. If they do it's from a private number with no message left.
