Just got an email from VM with this

Given the clues I strongly suspect that it is Reschke Bos 2006, Cabernet Sauvignon | reschke

Any thoughts on this aged CabSav? Must be a perfect drinking time now
Thanks!! Boomed this one too.

Also just boomed. Worth a crack at $13/bottle for a solid 15 year cab sav.

Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for the tip olympicwiz. Running a bit low on aged wine and we have been really enjoying the last of our Cape d'Estaing Shiraz 2001 and 2004 we picked up from Langtons a while ago. will make use of the other halfs account to [re]use the nothingcompares2u code.

Edit: I just checked Langtons to see if there are still any Cape d'Estaing Shiraz 2004 on offer... We paid $13 a bottle when they were getting dumped on auction, but now they are selling up around $55... ouch

I’ve been a bit gun shy with VM after a couple of misses but just couldn’t resist😁

After seeing a few people buying this and having recommended this to my friends and family - I really hope that my assumption re the identity of the wine is correct and more importantly the wine is good!

Some points of interest - Myself and my friends also purchased Reschke Empyrean 2010, Cabernet Sauvignon | reschke from VM about a month ago. I haven't tried it but my cabsav loving friend who tried it this weekend said it was just amazing - a bit on heavier side though. And it was $50 from VM. He thinks it is too early to drink it.

The winemaker is Peter Douglas who used to be a winemaker for Wynns up until 1999. Apparently his winemaking style is more on heavier side of things and generally they don't release wines until it has some age on them. From what I understand most of their wines were destined for export - personally I never came across them in the past until now.

FWIW - I have also checked the community reviews on the DM website https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_907801/reschke-bos-cabernet-sauvignon?
that sounded positive.

So fingers crossed!

Sounds like great value on the Empyrean, olympicwiz! I can't see it on the VM site any longer. Would it be safe to assume it's all gone given you picked it up weeks ago?

Very good price for the Empyrean!
Please let us know if/when it comes back on VM.

I got 2006 & 2008 vintages during FC clearance last year, would love to add the 2010 for a vertical tasting :)

@boomy I understand 2008 vintage is an outstanding wine slightly above 2010 - both were offered but 2008 was sold out quickly so I grabbed 2010. Apparently 2014 is the next one to be released.

Have you tried the 06 or 08 yet? How are they? :)
Hi sorry - looks like it was all gone - here is a original link to it PRE-ARRIVAL: Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 – Black Market #37528
No need to be sorry, but thanks anyway. That was a great buy, well done.

Dont worry Olympicwiz, if it's a dud we can all just return it to VM after one bottle for a full refund.
