Vinomofo Wine Deals

Received an email from one of VM's team throwing around the idea of snapping up a Hawke's Bay Bordeaux Blend (I'm sure I'm not the only one) and it would appear to be this: Stylish blend Paritua Red 2018, Hawke’s Bay. Considering it is being offered for $49 NZD (around $47 AUD) it's hard to get my head around this statement "Down from $75 /btl RRP to just $27.50 /btl in 6pks" Am I missing something ;)
The standard marketing hype that's all....the RRP's for the not so well known ones are an enticement, an entrapment, a temptation, call it what you like and if it hooks you sailor, then come in spinner. And just like Rex Hunt used to do, give one a kiss and return them back to the ocean of wine that the Fo is famous for. I had a Pyrus 2012 on the weekend, don't know where it came from, but it ain't cheap now. Beautiful upfront, great middle but it just lacked that last bit of meet and the end palate. 7.2/10 for mine, but again, not worth the dough. Had a Rockbare 2012 Shiraz with its $16.99 sticker on it. Wowee, kaboom, kapoow Batman.

My previous experience has been with the Driftwood Artifacts Cab Sav 2012 (bottle shown as dredged from the depths of the cellar) and it is/was one of the best Margaret River iterations of this variety I've drunk to date. The only reason I still have a single bottle left from several dozen is that I've been loathe to put my last one to the sword, bloody delicious! View attachment 258245
I scored a driftwood white years ago, bought 6, probably a graysonline, probably a semillon and 2012ish and it was stunning. And about $8.

Good points BF, I think it just stuck in my craw was the suggestion that the aforementioned wine could have an "RRP" in Australia when the only source for it was across the ditch or through the 'Fo, they could have a seat at Geoffrey Robertson's table and discuss "hypotheticals" with him Geoffrey Robertson's Hypotheticals Forewarned is forearmed :) Wow Rockbare, my only experience of them was their Tideway Shiraz which like the Driftwood I had to go back in for second helpings, to my palate the perfect red...

Yep, have to say I’m consistently underwhelmed by the Pyrus.

Not sure where you're going with that...
I am sure the intention was that Driftwood are a damn good winery as two punters posted. Pedigree is a great thing in a winery generally. More on that here. I went searching the net last night and their 2019 Single site Chardy looks da goods. But at late thirtees, too much for me and i have some Flametree chardy i bought in 2020 for about $20 which is sublime. Interestingly last friday night I had a 2012 3oceans The explorers Chardy which was a Fo purchase. It was brilliant. So i do a little searching and find the 2013 version, which i think the Fo also had for about $12 a bottle. This 2013 picked up the best chardy and the best wine award at the Perth show in 2015 or 2016 which is not too shabby for a 12 bucker indeed.
Look up Travis's Driftwood if you want a good song about lazy friends. I am sure you and I WandD were not what the poster was talking about, but if so, he's 50 per cent right with me. I don't think that level of subliminal messaging belongs to anyone else besides me to be honest.

While the St. Henri is a fantastic wine it's not really much of a deal. It's been cheaper on vinomofo before.
Aside from purchasing the wines, how are you able to identify them?

Yes I picked up some of that 3oceans - it was delicious and unbeatable at $12.

Been a while since I've posted but this one pricked my ears up today: Anyone tried it yet. Surely can't be bad for $12/bottle. I've enjoyed Pirramimma winses before

Much appreciated! Now, do I go for the CW lustre Shiraz (of which I liked the 2017) or the Pirramimma GSM?
What's the CW link?

Pirramimma, the Heritage Shiraz 2016 was amazing.
However I only see a Cab Sav 17, and a Shiraz G 17.

Lots of Pirramimma available tho, and many Black Market listings.
