I'd be interested in your opinion when you open one. Personally I stay away from anything 2011 unless it's from Margaret River.
2011 has a reputation for being a bad year in Australia - although the reality is that this is definitely not uniform across all wine regions in Australia. I've had plenty of good 2011 wines.

There is no reason to completely avoid 2011 wines from Australia.

But I note that this is a wine from New Zealand. 2011 in New Zealand was OK. Certainly has better scores vis a vis a number of vine regions in Australia.

Was '11 a bad year in NZ?
No. Definitely not connected to poor vintage ratings in Australia for 2011.

2011 was relatively poor in NZ and much of Aust. NZ in general was warm & wet in 2011.
6/10 for Hawkes Bay by the rating I use. It's not published (private) but that is backed up by some published ratings.
It's never universal though. As I said, I'd be interested in what you think when you try it if you'd like to post your thoughts. It's a good wine generally.

From the outstanding 9/10 rated 2015 vintage, fruit for this Shiraz was hand-picked from a single block, basket-pressed and set to barrel for 20 months. Deep and inky, expressing vivid dark berry fruits along with chocolate and liquorice, all held together by cedar notes and structural tannins from its time in premium French oak. This is serious Barossa Shiraz and is unapologetically bold as it leaps from the glass. This beauty is built to age for decades and will certainly reward those patient enough to do so.

2. Black Market 2016 "Block 4" Shiraz - Barossa Valley, SA

A touch of Viognier is the Northern Rhône recipe for greatness. It's a careful process and minimal co-fermenting of the white grape amplifies the colour and aromatics of the red. Every aspect of this crafting is hands-on, from the harvest and wild yeast fermentation all the way through to the basket pressing. Only then can this delicious drop get a rest, seeing 20 months in seasoned French oak. The nose has a touch of floral character (thanks to the Viognier), with deep Shiraz fruit powering through accompanied by herbal notes, chocolate, liquorice and leather.

Find me a better reduction on this wine and I'm in!
The RRP at the time was around $70 I believe.
Typical misleading information from VM, which is why I haven't been buying from them.

Granted it's aged, but still.

Wine-Searcher has some reviews, CellarTracker has 20+ reviews. Plenty of feedback on the wine :)
