Thanks - found it, was the Schubert Goose-yard block

People seemed to like it enough to buy it out, and some 'critics' liked it a lot. But was it another huge-RRPd not-so-amazing wine? I've never bought Schubert so really don't know if it's rightly in the $160 range, or if it coming down to $50 made it a total bargain. Does anyone know this wine and can enlighten me?

I was more worried of the glowing Sam Kim's 97 points!

TWF front rating is for this wine (Schubert Estate Goose Yard Block 2015) is 89 points and more importantly the reviewer (Cambell Mattinson) notes the RRP as $60. in Sep 2019

Read this whichever way as you will, but to me this "price manoeuvring" is designed to catch people out who place greater importance on the "bargain hunting" and the percentage discount off the supposedly RRP rather than on the underlying quality.

Simple formula - jack up the price - purchase Sam Kims "stratospherical" 97 point rating - black market it via VM and bring the price down to what essentially it was before. Rinse and repeat.

Would anyone kindly know the origins of this one
I believe that it is Wills Domain Paladin Hill Matrix Cabernet Blend. Was offered $10 cheaper last year for 2018 vintage FWIW

4 cases for me at current vinomofo price. Is that recommendation enough :)

I tend to agree with @Dr Ralph here. Whilst this looks like a weaker vintage of this wine it's a serious wine (perhaps sencond only to Te Mata Colleraine in Gimblett Gravels Claret stakes). I have some of the 2013 and it's majestic. Also probably right at its drinking peak. Im in for a 6 pack which is a potential bargain at ~$42.50 after the $40 off code. If its nt up to scratch I'll return it to the mof_s.

What $40 off code? I used $30 referral +~$10 cash reward
