I tend to agree with @Dr Ralph here. Whilst this looks like a weaker vintage of this wine it's a serious wine (perhaps sencond only to Te Mata Colleraine in Gimblett Gravels Claret stakes). I have some of the 2013 and it's majestic. Also probably right at its drinking peak. Im in for a 6 pack which is a potential bargain at ~$42.50 after the $40 off code. If its nt up to scratch I'll return it to the mof_s.
Agree! Can always return to mof_s if we don’t like it. Having say that, in have not yet returned anything thus far

I tried this one tonight. Definitely tasty when it was allowed to open up for over an hour. But I didn't go 'wow, amazing'.

Not convinced there aren't better wines around at this fairly high price point, but defintely not feeling robbed. Was particularly good to try a top NZ bordeaux blend, just for the novelty.

Thank you for sharing. Mine was delayed…. Hope it arrives before the Chinese New Year

I've been receiving some deals via email...

Black Market Shiraz 2016 - McLaren Vale, SA
bm03shz
96 Points - Melbourne International Wine Competition 2021
94 Points - Mike Bennie
Gold Medal - Gold London Wine Competition 2020

"Here comes concentration, intensity and complexity. Dark fruits, compote and pepper highlight the palate, complemented by earthy and moreish undertones, all culminating with fine grained tannin on a long, long finish. Two years in a mix of new and older French oak has provided the structure for cellaring, and when applied to fruit with this much vine age, leads to a long life for the wine. This is classic Vale, full of history, depth and boldness." - Seb Banks, Vinomofo Wine Dealer

Now, this is no ordinary Shiraz. Fruit for this beauty is sourced from a five acre vineyard that has been confirmed, by historians, to have been planted back in 1880!! That makes these ancient, twisted, gnarly vines some of the oldest, if not the oldest, surviving Shiraz vines in McLaren Vale.
Over the last 140 years, the fruit that these vines produce has gained such immense complexity and depth of flavour. Its powerfully robust fruit profile is balanced with beautifully integrated oak and held together by an elegantly fine-grained network of tannins. This beautiful drop, although already drinking stunningly, will continue to evolve and develop well for many years to come.

Oak: New and seasoned French oak barrels for 24 months
Alcohol: 14.5%
Cellaring: Drink now to 2032

Retail price: $75 /btl
Vinomofo price: $29.90 /btl in 6 packs

I'd say its the Conte Estate 1880 Old Vine Shiraz.

I was after this, but it's the exact same price as currently listed on their site.

I believe it's even dropped as low as $25, so it's a bit frustrating they send these Warehouse special members for the same price listed online.
Was $25 early December 2021 deal number #40272.
I don't get many VM emails and have never bought from an email offer. I don't think I've seen (or seen reported) an email deal that was significantly cheaper than buying online (less cash back) or via eBay with a code.

Exactly
$25 was decent, as it's still $30 on eBay.

I nearly feel like calling them out, but I can't be bothered.

I've tried the feedback avenue, nothing changes, it's all about the metrics of what works for them.

There are very few merchants who don't play the various games of mystery vs plain sight pricing, varying pricing depending on demand or marketing cycle etc.
VM aren't the worst by a fair margin. DM and TWC probably the worst, but sometimes have a big pay-off if you are alert.
I try to take advantage of the bottom of the cycle pricing from those manipulating their offerings, but buy more these days from the likes of Nicks and Different Drop who don't play those sort of games.
