1. Black Market 2016 Shiraz - Clare Valley, SA |
4.1 - Vivino Score 95 points - Ned Goodwin, James Halliday Wine Companion 2020 92 points - Huon Hooke, The Real Review This winery has roared to massive heights since establishment in 1997, and is now a household name to 'mof_ fans in Australia and around the world. This is crafted from their oldest vines in the Leasingham hamlet of the Clare. Always producing wines with intensity and full length on palate, this is an offer of exceptional quality. This absolutely iconic wine has really come into a perfect drinking window, but will go the distance for the next 10-15 years. The fruit has balanced out wonderfully, while still dense and impressive. It's a powerful wine with fantastic balance and supports a wonderfully long finish. Rich, fine oak layered on liquorice and blue to black fruits is supported by a touch of charred meats and a lithe but rounded line of acidity. Oak: 18 months in new and seasoned French oak casks Alcohol: 14.5% Cellaring: Drink now until 2036 Down from $96 /btl to $48 /btl in 6 packs is Kilikanoon Oracle |
