Vinomofo Wine Deals

Its dollar value. Not purchase numbers. Many of your purchases may have been at a low value. Suggest you check earlier discussions in this forum for examples of those who qualified and the criteria satisfied to get there.

Agree I haven't bought anywhere near as much as 25 purchases. I've been getting VIM emails for a long time.

I heard Halliday say in a radio interview earlier this year that Qantas bought it all.

If that's true, Dr Ralph, it would make a complete mockery of Halliday's choice of Wine of the Year. At the same time, it doesn't surprise me one bit. You only have to look at his recent Top 100 to understand he's still pushing the same tired old wines a lot of the time. One might wish to imagine there's some incentive other than the wine itself at play. Try listening to him at vineyard-sponsored events: It's hilarious. Yes, money does talk.

I'm confident I recall what he said accurately. He made the point at the time that there was no point in trying to get some as Qantas had already acted. I assume you can get it through epiqure.

Qantas certainly did not buy it all given a friend of mine has half a dozen in her cellar. Unsure where she purchased it from though, but certainly wasn't from Qantas.

Yeah I saw the same deal at my local first choice also ghinx, but didn't have as much premium wines like your local 1st choice. I was actually chasing the Halliday wine of the yr (Xanadu Stevens Rd Cab Sav) but can't find that wine anywhere. Give us a yell if you find that wine anywhere as I've been looking for abt 4 weeks now for 1 bottle. I heard most of it never hit the shelves but ended up at distributors and shop managers homes.

I bought some from my local Dan's, so the above is certainly not the case....

Against my better judgement I jumped on the VIM secret deal. (I already have far too much wine, but if my detective skills are up to scratch, it should be one to age).

No idea what the criteria for VIM is. I suspect spend would play a part.

How the hell do you become a VIM?? I have bought 25 deals since March...or is that not much compared to some of you?

I am a VIM....I've bought about 10 cases this year, have spent a little over $1k and been buying on average about 1/month.

Started getting the VIM emails early November I think.

Hope that helps.

I get the VIM emails and I haven't made a large number of purchases. I get the regular phone calls from Vinomofo and I think I remember indicating that I wanted to be kept informed of special deals. It is probably something that my "broker" initiated.

Well I am well over 2K in the last 9 months so that seems really strange! I am going to email them I think.

well i must say their wine offers in the last 2-3 months has been very coughpy and because of that i haven't bought anything from them in the last 3 months. its mostly black market deals. i would love to see more premium wines to be offered at around 50% off RRP. most of their premium offers nowadays are roughly 25-30% off RRP and occasionally you get some at 50% but this is mostly from boutique wineries or never heard of wines.

so i guess i will never be able to become VIM with their coughpy wine offers. :-|:-|:-|

They have good deals from time to time - It's just a case of waiting for them.

I agree - lots of plonk, or stuff you've never heard of, but I think I generally get "good" value from VM.

Also, it always pays to do your research - on some occasions Dan's or another retailer can be competitive.

Looks like the 2010 vintage of the Maverick Twins Cabernet Blend is up as a Black Market deal. The 2012 was a great buy a few weeks ago
