I got the 2011 from vinomofo and was happy with it.
Thanks - sounds like a few years of decent pedigree there. Now to see if I've got space for a dozen or can convince someone for a 1/2 case

My bottle assigned numero 230 will be subject to audit tonight. 231 to 235 are anxiously sweating it out waiting to see if the thumb is up or the thumb goes down.
you will not be disappointed I am sure.Boom for me on the Zinfandel. As mentioned in the Zin thread I've been keen to try some after sampling the Cape Mentelle one. So a Margaret River one on the 'Fo from a well liked winery seems too perfect to turn down!

Yes, I understand that. Definitely not expecting anything in the same league, but seems like a good starting point for finding a Zinfandel I can afford to drink regularly! The Cape Mentelle and the St Johns Churchview are VERY different wines.
The Cape Mentelle is far superior.

Seen the black market 2015 Tumbarumba prosecco up a few times now, anyone tried it yet? Or knows what it is? It looks interesting but I notice this time around there isn't a timer on it which makes me hesitant.
We broached one last night. 'Pleasantly inoffensive' was the verdict. Pale, dryish, good bead, it was OK.
Is anyone else having problems acessing the VM web site? Using Safari/OSX10.10.5 anything I try just comes up with the 'something is borked' page. Same with Firefox. Iphone seems to work.
At $42 to $35 you make a very strong case.
At $42 to $12, well.................................. an interesting perspective of quality and value ensues.
Both wines are good and that's the great thing.

I know that by now Doc , in fact I knew it last year but for a newbee the Churchview is seriously good value for a very good wine. The Mentelle would flog it as you say but you cannot go wrong. As far as the Star Lane sangiovese goes, mediocre, not awful, not past its peak, but it will probably feature in salvation cases in the future. I am excited about more St Johns coming on, especially the wild fermented rizza.I made no reference to price being the determining factor in my comparison.
Anyone tapped a Dalwhinnie as yet? Opening a few tonight I reckon, any recommendations on what to start with? Having slow cooked lamb so Shiraz or Cab well suited.

. Scary if the st johns is up...good premonition if so....i will just check now........Beefarmer, I don't seem to be keeping up with what's going on here. Is the St Johns wild fermented Riesling being offered on Vinomofo at the moment or are you just being optimistic? Is it this one? https://vinomofo.com/wines/white-wine/black-market-deal-riesling-2016
Is the Churchview about which you speak this one? https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/churchview-estate-margaret-river-shiraz-2014 I see no mention of "St Johns". How does it rank against the Jeanneret Westward We Went Cabernet Malbec?
I feel like I'm a few steps behind in a chemistry experiment. All enlightenment will be appreciated.
