Vinomofo Wine Deals

My concerns about AP & safe drop were thankfully unfounded:

And an eclectic mix from Different drop due any day too.

Ok, I was of the exact opposite oppinion. I was quite disappointed my order was safedropped without authorizstion to do so. I definitely dont like wine sitting at the front door when the post office is only 2min down the road.

I use AP’s ‘Parcel Collect’ service now and just get my packages from the post office. I figure there’s no point the wine sitting in the back of a delivery truck all day, then I have to go get the parcel from the PO anyway.

Hmm thats a good idea actually ☺ The fastway guy knew we were home at 8-9am so always called by then. AP times seem to always be 5min after you leave home

I tell you what though, I'm not getting any new post updates on threads on this forum and if I do they are spasmodic so I end up not participating, bit of a bummer for me at least :( I mean I'm willing to embrace the new format etc but my in-box has become very lean of late....

WD, I think the traffic is much lower (which may or may not be related to the new format). Think that since VM have moved into O'S market the "deals" we used get excited about are further apart. More and more wines I've never heard of which I also think is related to the age of internet buying.

I get both of your points of view, I was similarly annoyed that AP ignored a safe drop request (as opposed to no drop). I cannot reasonably pick up from a PO, so was happy that the VM order was delivered as requested, that's all.

I probaly spoke out of turn Baiden, I guess what I mean is that despite adhering to admin's advice in regard to "following" threads on forums I'm rarely/inconsistently getting 'new reply to thread you are following' updates in my in-box, it's only when I visit the thread (like this VM one) that I see there have been new responses.
Certainly VM has tailed-off in terms of "super" deals but I'm still getting my in-box stuffed full of offers from them numerous times a day very few of which excite me enough to hit the boom button....

Hi Whining&dining I agree with your summary of VM. Also I agree re notifications of thread activity. Yours was the first for today but there was three yesterday that I did not get but found when I went to the web site.Cheers Rug

Mine is the same too, it's hit and miss. I also agree the new format is a spaced out, it takes a while to navigate to all the threads that were previously in the same location, so I don't browse as much anymore.

The deals have been lacklustre, hence the posts in this thread slowing down....
Partially agree but I genuinely believe that you could chart the decline and fall of the wine-based sections of the forum as being pre- and post-forum change, can't comment on the other areas as I don't visit them:)

I think it's very hit and miss which is kind of bizarre considering the high(er)-tech look and functionality, all I know is that I don't get updates so I don't habitually visit the threadso_O

W&D, when you post next go to more options and ensure the "and receive email notifications" is checked

The 2015 Maverick 100% Cab Sav is a Killer Wine..
I must have received a bad batch - received mine today and opened first bottle tonight - no flavour whatsoever and if I did not know it was a cab sav would never have guessed - I hope the second bottle is better or else its going back - normally love Barossa Cab Sav

If you are still not getting emails, start a conversation (send a pm to) with admin
Steady ; just followed your advice and I have both boxes ticked including the email function you advised and still only get random notifications so Admin must be the way to go. Cheers Rug

Try ticking the box for the option "Always stay logged-in" when you logon.

I get notifications for about 12 hours after I login and then go away (I don't check the box) and then don't get notifications until after I login again. I don't always log in when I visit, only if I want to post, so don't often get notifications.

That's a good point RB, I've just followed your advice and will see where it ends up, I guess I naively assumed it would keep alerting you to new unread posts to threads via email but I was probaly mistaken, fingers crossed....thanks!
