Vinomofo Wine Deals

Thanks. That would explain why I couldn't find the winery (many of their reds are not listed as Heathcote on the Winecompanion site). If "the previous release" actually means "a previous release", then that might work (2014 got 96 from JH, 5 red stars, 2014 is $60 on their web site).

I’m assuming there was no 2015 release (can’t find any reference to such a beast, on my phone ), in which case the 2014 would be the previous release.

This, too, like the Blewitt, hails from a prized, elevated single vineyard. Clarendon is a cooler site within the grand scheme of things, contrasting Blewitt's sand with its ancient loams. Slightly more concentrated, brooding and of darker fruit tones, this mid-weighted wine exhibits bing cherry, bitter chocolate and raspberry bonbon, cascading down a fountain of energetic acidity and delicate tannins, etched with a dusting of sand. The finish is effortless across a gradual build of flavour, rather than a wine-as with so many of the region-that bludgeons. This, too, is unoaked and tastes ever so slightly emaciated as if it is a blend of earlier and later harvested fruit, somehow not yet quite gelling.

It did win a Grenache trophy at the McLaren Vale Show in 2016/2017, but the claimed JH 96 is actually from the JH Grenache Challenge at which JH was not a judge, more sloppy work from Vinomofo.

Ah, was wondering about this one and came to the same conclusion (being Willunga 100). Not on my shopping list.

Blue Rock Limited Release Family Reserve Series Pantelis Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon is a better match (price and region)

Ah, think I over analysed the "as good as the Rockford Rifle Range" VM description and took that as a cryptic hint.
(the wine's name is a mouthful).

No I haven't tried any of their wines.
A quick search on my forum shows it has been offered at Winestar for $22.99 since October 31.
Mystery BV122 Barossa Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 - Mystery Wine

Tried the 2012 Pantelis a couple of years ago... very nice wine and great price at $23. 2012 was a good vintage for them and I recall their 2012 estate Cab Sav range with a RRP of $20 also scored 94 and was also a stunning wine. Would pick some up myself if I hadn't already bought my quota for this year.

I got the 2012 Estate Cabernet from VinoMofo for $10 a couple of years back. Superb wine.

Possibly new Maverick Twins Barossa Valley Shiraz 2017

Black market Barossa Shiraz 2017

$25 RRP and "Crafted by a boutique, biodynamic crew". Also pretty sure VM have sold 5 vintages.

Certainly looks like it. I'd boom on it except I'm not going to be around for the next 3 weeks to take delivery. Hopefully it will come back on rotation in the new year.
And in related news the 2017 GSM is available:

Vinomofo - Maverick Twins GSM 2017 - Red Wine

(apologies if it has already been mentioned)

Thoughts on value of the Mavericks compared to the Dendelion shiraz on CM? (similar price after vouchers)

I haven't tried many of either but FWIW I found Dandelion (tried the shiraz a couple of years back) probably needs more bottle age than Maverick if you intend to drink soon. Likely though Dandelion is a better constructed wine (assuming latest vintages are on par with previous ones).
