I'm still enjoying the six-pack I received a few weeks back, a very solid drop, chewy and dense, should probably lay some down but it's just too drinkable! Bit disturbing to hear about batch variation though...

It's a good drop but there's definitely batch variation. My first 6 bottles were excellent. Second order I returned after trying a bottle.

I decided to open up my last 2018 GMS and I reckon it gives The Blend a good run for almost half the money.

Couldn’t agree more. I bought The Blend and returned it as I thought the GSM was better. Each to their own I guess

Did you find the GMS to be much lighter? I only had The Blend before.

Perhaps a little bit lighter, mostly I think more flavoursome and less tannic. The one I had left is 2 years older though.

Yep, that is the Gemtree.
I've had it before and I wouldn't say it is the best example of a Tempranillo, but I do like the winery's bio-dynamic methods and the absence of preservatives.
At that price it makes for a good quaffer.

Thoroughly enjoyed another bottle of the Gemtree Tempranillo, a beautiful naturally crafted wine.

I did. Was tempted to donate the other 5 to the Black Market club for the price but decided to cellar as I think it will be better in a few years. Very fruity and not as bold as I usually like. I must say I have been impressed with the 2018 Pirathon Shiraz though. Just bought another dozen. Much better value IMO.
