Serves me right for being in the wrong place at the wrong time....

Woohoo! Flights now changed to "Confirmed", from "Pending". That's it, family of 4 OOL-CBR and back for the price of 2 beers.

I know there are those amongst you that would say that I should keep the money and have the two beers instead, but CBR is a city I've not been to yet, and it'll make a change to fly for pleasure instead of work again.

Yes, Pending to Confirmed with no sign of the extra $3 per person per sector credit card surcharge. That's strange, but welcome!

Yep my reservations are now confirmed, and e-tickets received.

My pocket is less $4 though :D

They don't seem to have emailed the populations of Australia, so perhaps not lots of people knew about it. I only found out as it was posted here!

Same, I only knew through this thread, but I must say, it posted here almost an hour after it hit the news website.... a bit slow this time weren't we

LOL - not usually sitting on the news.com.au website looking for bargains and I was surprised it was not already posted, in fact the whole way it was organised seems odd but worked to our advantage. If you look at the timings and logisitcs, it would appear only news.com got the news (no mention in the fairfax press), it was released when most people were in commute mode and the actual sale took place during peak TV viewing times.

And yet I still missed it -

Strange. All my bookings say:

NEEDS PAYMENT

Maybe they don't want to put charges through on Amex.

Just browsing other forums, and it seems that some people had to pay the $3 credit card fee.

Did anyone here had to pay the CC fee? Seems a bit odd.....

No, I didn't pay any CC fees. I paid by way of a MC though.

Hi there

Got an email timed at 16:22 from Virgin Blue, but i didn't get home from work until after the OP had posted.

Cheers
DJ737

Two out of my three booking were "CONFIRMED" this morning. I received a phone call in the afternoon from Virgin Blue requesting payment for the third booking.

Provided the same credit card details online as for the two "CONFIRMED" bookings, and again over the phone, with the third e-Ticket successfully issued within minutes of the call.

Payment was made via MasterCard and no credit card surcharge was applied. Not a bad way to spend $8. :D
