Re: Virgin 30% Off 48 Hour Sale PROMO CODE [On Sale: 22-23 Aug // Travel 8 Oct -14 De

Correct only if these are the fares you originally purchase. If you use a points or complimentary upgrade to Business you will only get the flexi SC of 30

Thanks for the confirmation.

I think I'll buy flexi on the way up then J on the way back. Then upgrade the flexi with points to J. Would the first leg be refundable/changed if it's upgraded into J? As per the question by a previous poster in this thread.

30% Off Virgin for 48 Hours (Incl Business)

Just noticed that Virgin announced a 48Hr sale earlier today which give 30% of all flight on their domestic network, including Business.

In my case, I'm going to use this to get some cheap Flexi's and then upgrade to Business for half points :D

Re: Virgin 30% Off 48 Hour Sale PROMO CODE [On Sale: 22-23 Aug // Travel 8 Oct -14 De

One thing I have noticed with this sale is that it does not apply to multi-sector bookings. And by that I mean the ones offered by the VA website in lieu of a direct flight.

Also flights already on sale are not included either but that is understandable.

Re: 30% Off Virgin for 48 Hours (Incl Business)

Looks like competition is really heating up!

Would be good to see what Qantas come up with...

Massive fan of the cheap flexi's PER-SYD (coupled with half points upgrade)!

As a consumer, it's a great time to be flying.

Re: Virgin 30% Off 48 Hour Sale PROMO CODE [On Sale: 22-23 Aug // Travel 8 Oct -14 De

Bought two tickets flexi $104 each from OOL-MEL in mid-November - have a conference (hence tax deductable).
Plain to upgrade to business with points.
Oh, OOL even has a Virgin Blue lounge.
How did you get a complimentary upgrade?

Re: 30% Off Virgin for 48 Hours (Incl Business)

I am going to have to go to Perth on a Flexi and upgrade to J using my complimentary upgrades which will otherwise be wasted...

Just booked $3000 with of flexi fares. I am going to upgrade them all with half price points to Q/H fare then change the dates later to othe Q class flights. Fingers crossed!

Good thing I saw this. I have 2 J upgrades about to expire in a few days, and was going to use them for PER. Instead, using them for a weekender in BNE, and i'll use my 'free' free upgrade and the half price points for PER at the end of the year:)

Re: Virgin 30% Off 48 Hour Sale PROMO CODE [On Sale: 22-23 Aug // Travel 8 Oct -14 De

Amex. Will I be charged extra to change dates?

Won't a change re-price the original flexi which will be 30% more outside the sale period?

They will all be Q/H class bookings. I changed a Q/H booking (flexi+points upgrade) to a different price and didn't have to pay the difference as the operated said it was now a rewards booking. I am praying that this is the case for these bookings!

I'd be interested to see if this is Gold/Plat FF only?

I'm currently Silver and haven't had anything hit my inbox yet.

I hold no status and received it.

SHOW MORE FARES

Travel Period: 09/09/2012 - 31/10/2012

Alas not the case. I made a booking (with the wrong w/end selected) today, and when I range to change immediately after I realised my faux par I was told 'oh as the change date you are requesting is outside the 30% off sale offer you'll have to pay the difference'. I then informed her that it was within the period (just a week later) she went back to her supervisor. She apologised and I said I could just change it online (which I did; not used to buying flexi fares) but she did confirm 100% that if you change it after the sale period is over/outside the period being offered in the sale (whichever; they're mutually exclusive) you'll have to pay the fare difference.
