Has anyone had issues with the referral bonus being delayed?

I had a friend use my referral last Thursday and was instantly approved but points still haven't shown. When others used my referral they points posted the same day as they were approved. It's reasonable for them to take a 1+ weeks but after the last ones posted that day I got nervous they've somehow missed this one?

After a month of waiting (on AMEX to source more plastic it seems!), my card has arrived. I realise I am late to the party, but it would be terrific if someone considered my referral link. I receive 20,000 velocity points for the referral, which are vital to me maintaining a long-distance relationship with my fiancée between Australia and the UK!

Record sign-up for an Australian card! Ends September 30.

110,000 velocity points when you spend $1000 in first 3 months (100,000 without referral)
3 velocity points per $1 on VA
2 velocity points per $1 on airlines, accommodation, cruises, tour operators
2 velocity points per $1 on foreign spend
0.5 velocity point per $1 on utilities, ATO, Australia Post and other government spend
1 velocity point per $1 on everything else
Free VA return domestic flight every year (available destinations here)
2 free visits to VA lounge each year
$349 annual fee

My referral link is here

Always hard to decide who's referral link to use. Most people here seem nice.
Anyhow, I used your referral link Formal Hall as you were helpful to me in another thread (random, I know). Got a message straight away as I submitted the application to advise that I was approved (can this be right? - I was expecting a few hoops as I'm only part time and just clear the min income). Now lets hope I get the points given I already have a platinum edge which I love.
I will let you know when I have received my card and meet the minimum spend.

I assumed the points would clear when the applicant made min spend, but I guess that doesn't make sense?
- In that case, Formal Hall can look forward to some points sooner than I thought. ;)

They've recently started cracking down on the referral limits from what I understand... Maybe they're vetting referral bonuses now?

My referral is at post #571. It hasn't been used. Discuss.

Gee I hope not. I haven't had much luck on here at all with a referral hoping some friends might take up the offer over the next few weeks.

I forwarded yours to someone at work the other day who asked me about points and status. They said something about signing up for some other virgin card. I replied "are you stupid use this link" or words to that effect.

I'm still waiting to hear the bids for me to use someone's link. ;)

Medhead. A seasoned AFF member like yourself I find it hard to believe you hadn't signed up already and still haven't! Ill bid! I hope to have 17,000 plus posts on here one day and have the knowledge that that many posts must have on board. Despite posting some time ago some info I thought prospective applicants might find helpful, I have yet to get a referral from on here. Id be very happy to have yours!

Thanks Medhead, very good of you. I would be delighted if your work colleague signed up. Are you running a 'competitive evaluation process' for you to use a link? No way to split the referral points as far as I know but open to suggestions. Did I give you one of the drinks vouchers at Sydney Trivia Night when I fluked the Colonel Sanders 'Who Am I'? If so, does this give me a head start? :)
