Qantas used to be gate to gate on the Tasman, have they stopped that now?

The way I read that is that if it's the streaming-with-iPads version of IFE, then it's not gate to gate. If it's the integrated-in-to-seat-backs version of IFE, it's gate to gate.

Yes, it is pretty much gate to gate - just a little late in getting started I think.

Any update on how many planes have this up and running? Have the app on my iPhone, yet haven't flown one bird that has offered this... Or, atleast the crew haven't made it known... Hmmm

YID is the only 'operational' WiFi a/c but there are 10 or so installed.

All makes sense now... why aren't they all active. I thought they'd gottern over the trial period ages ago. Or is VA waiting for them all to be ready before "Launch"

What are they going to install on the ZK-PB* fleet? the current level of IFE offered on these services is pretty poor for an Intentional Service. Surely they should be putting some piroty into installing on the international fleet. On the Tasman its down to just VA/JQ without seatback entertainment.

Was told by crew told the android app comes out next week.
Also that in august around 20 aircraft will have the technology, with all 737/190 fitted by end of the year.

It can't come soon enough. It would be ok if being offered a Samsung but of course it's for business only. I'm part way through 3 movies from Business flights but then a few economy flights in between and the content is all changed when I next get one.

Was in row 3 this morning and was thinking as they were handing them out in front of me, it would be nice if they offered one back here and I could finish the movie I started Wednesday night.

Wasn't the new system supposed to allow you to login and finish a movie after getting off the flight ?

I've occassionally asked for this very reason. They have agreed so perhaps next time, just ask the FA and explain you need to finish a movie from previous flight.

Thanks for that. It does beg the question in my mind though, as to why they still persist charging $15 the TT run? Just another example of VA being unsure as to what they waht to be?

I flew YIQ on Sunday and Boardconnect was working great. No mention of it over the PA so I think I was the only one who was aware of it.
