Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

BNE-CBR 19:20 flight in October. Weekend flight. I was the only J pax. So obviously attentive service. But some gaps when CSM back helping in Y. Never a problem though.

PDBs the usual offering. While CSM did want to serve me early, on account of expected turbulence in latter part of flight (somewhat eventuated), and to be able to help out in Y -- was happy to delay a bit to allow a pre-dinner drink.

Meal was the BBQ pork or a beet salad. Pork for me:

Great dish, with extra chilli dressing added on request. Cheese was good. Didn't try the cake. Wine top-up too.

Another meal was served on a tray to someone in Y. Can only imagine it was to the uniformed pilot in Y - but didn't see. If it was to a pax, be interesting to know the basis.

Requested drink later in flight and asked about pantry items.

Me happy. Offers of top-ups through to descent.

Good flight with excellent food and service. Nice but a bit weird having an empty cabin. Even to the point of a crew member standing at row 2 on arrival and stopping any Y pax from even entering my space let alone leaving before me!

Same here.
Only one in J class. Rope was still put in place.
Great service til the crew moved to assist the main cabin.
Was left on my own for a while. Wanted to raid the galley, but thought better of it.

My +1 flew VA J (paid) today OOL-MEL-ADL. He phoned from MEL to say that they forgot to load lunch and the only offering was scone, jam and cream! Probably his least favourite thing😛.

He didn't eat much in the lounge as flight arrival in MEL was 14:20.

That's not good. Seems like the standard has taken a turn for the worse :(

As a paid J, I would be contacting them and requesting 10K points

Was in J, VA782 CNS-BNE 12:40 flight Friday 13th Dec, and no hot options, Choice was either a salad or a chicken sandwich. I didnt see this thread until now, but i sent in feedback asking if this was a new enhancement or an error in the catering.
Was pretty disappointed, as ive taken this flight a fair few times, and usually hold off eating in the lounge beforehand.

Looks like more cost cutting aimed squarely at the pointy end, this time without any announcement or warning :(

I would be disappointed as well. I have had that chicken sandwich on a morning tea service. A flight departing at 12.40 should have a more substantial meal available.

VA 367 BNE-TSV last week, received an op-up at the gate ( believed flight oversold) Choice of museli or a spice veges. Chose the veges, and was impressed with it, something id never had before.
Sorry no pic.

10pm SYD to Melbourne and FA said Afternoon tea offerings are quiche with caramelised onion and tomato relish, had it before and its good, or beetroot and pumpkin salad with pomegranate. Nice but needed something with a bit of punch, like a vinaigrette

I have to say that (chicken?) sandwich looks...depressing. Would it be that hard or expensive to make it a toasted focaccia with artichoke or something? At least some flavour...
It tasted okay with Bailey's on ice, although on the small side (maybe I'm just saying this because it was my 2nd of 3 J meals today).
