Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Loos are on the left facing coughpit on the 737, no?
Not straight ahead, that is the coughpit.
coughpit also has that little spyhole and you can visually tell its reinforced.
AB edit AC, get up, turn left, face front, loo on left.
CD edit DF get up, turn right, face front, loo on left.

Status run to Brisbane on the Thursday just gone.

Scrambled egg, with ham on Turkish. A little disappointing - twice cooked Turkish bread wasn‘t great and the ham didn’t cope with the oven. The apple danish was acceptable.

Sydney-Brisbane was up the back of the bus so nothing to report there.

Pardon the ‘Virgin’ lighting filter! Chicken cacciatore with penne. Unfortunately there was no chicken but the sauce and pasta were fine. I think the cheese had been left out for a few hours as it had gone very soft.

Service overall was good. Plenty of refills available on both J legs.

It's been the first time doing Bus class on a BNE-MEL (and ret) route for me. Mostly I've done just the ROK-BNE due to double SC offer and cheap Business. I'm sure the Fancy People dunny wasn't in the same spot??? I'm sure the one time I used it on that short flight (ROK-BNE) it was on my right - plus there was a FA already in that space who pointed me to it as I got up. Anyway I won't be making the (almost) same mistake again

PDB working..

Soz couldn't work out the multiquote atm. I actually wasn't feeling 100% so only had water for my PDB or I could have blamed my usual Mimosa for it 😂

I flew on the VIRGIN BNE-DRW flight on 27/5 @ 8.50am flying in Business Class. I am a coeliac so I was fairly certain that I would not be catered for BUT I was prepared for that. I had the best ever breakfast in the lounge - GF toast with avocado and bacon. Fantastic. My husband had bacon and eggs. Coffee was good as was the fruit juice. My husband and I both partaked of the wine and beer on board the flight. Staff were attentive. This is my first flight in over a year. For 8.5 years up until 20/3/2020 I was an interstate FIFO worker employed in the Pilbara - Flying between Melbourne and Paraburdoo. I enjoyed the whole flight experience and here’s hoping for more holidays to come.

VA931 SYD-BNE 11/6: Cajun chicken on rice or Asian style salad. Pretty sure I've been offered this before recently where I had gone for the salad as I had a large lunch, so opted for the chicken this time.

Good to know. We will have a 7am DRW>SYD flight so was hoping DRW lounge would have something

VA978 BNE-SYD. Chicken tagine or 3-cheese pasta. Had the tagine as I was in a chicken mood. Finally, something I haven't had before (and I like to think I don't fly that often!)

Props to the crew for deplaning us and putting us on a new plane! Engineering issues meant that the incoming flight was delayed. We were ready to leave the gate, but one of the engine was then shut down due to an issue and took them about half an hour before it was decided to use another plane. Was 2.5 hours late by the time we landed, but beats not getting to Sydney at all (or flying to Melbourne to get to Sydney ...)

As per above post, tangerine chicken with rice or a cheese tortellini with a creamy basil sauce for Syd to Darwin VA1353.

Chicken was a basic stir-fry and good. Although it doesn't look like it, the cheese tortellini was also good but my complaint is no bread roll for the excess sauce. I'm Italian, we don't leave a bowl of sauce left over.

The dessert seemed to be carrot or banana cake with a pistachio and rose frosting. It smelled and looked like banana cake but tasted like carrot so undecided.

Was also offered a tray of snacks about 1hr after meal and drinks never stopped. Calvin was our FA and very attentive.

Agree about the bread, personally in most cases I'd happily swap the cheese and crackers for bread and butter and a small Lindt ball or something for "dessert"

BNE-ADL 12JUN
Spanish Chicken with Mash. Quite enjoyed it actually, which is good because I was served last (it went 1A-F then 2F-A), vego option was a Korean fired rice

I will say that I don’t love their new Pinot Noir, it’s the Chilean stuff they have in the lounge and it’s not as good as the Taku or Mudhouse they have had

Were you served a different Pinot noir onboard that's not the Taku Pinot noir?

New wine and food menu launching end of month so it will be interesting to see what's on the menu for food and drinks 🤩

MEL-PER VA693 last night 17/6

A very social flight over last night. Three of the J rows happily talking away and a good vibe in the cabin, matched by Kris' excellent service (a Virgin Blue day 1 original!).

PDB offered. Jackets hung. Pre-meal drink once in the sky with a small packet of pretzels and cashews, followed by dinner. Two of the familiar options - the mushroom and farro salad, or the chicken pasta. I went the chicken pasta with the shiraz. Delicious. Nice red velvet cake, along with the usual transcon accompaniments on the tray of the antipasto plate and cheese & crackers. Regularly refilled drinks, plus had a whiskey-spiked hot choc along with a tasty cookie. Snack basket offered about one hour out.

Brilliant flight - a real stand out.

I believe it was the Madame Sass that had been promoted in the lounges of late

Three rows of J? You must have been on one of the ex-Silk Air birds without the new seats?
