After mainly forgettable meals in J domestic, I had a good one for lunch. Korean chicken with rice. Mildly spicy and tasty.

A bit of dessert would have been good rather than the “cardboard cheese” as my kids used to describe it.

Yes, got a micro piece of chocolate. I’m still on the plane, so maybe something else will arrive.

My gripe with the cheese and crackers is that the packaging is not recyclable!!

They could easily substitute a piece of cheese in grease-proof paper. And a bread roll instead! (or crackers for those who prefer!)

Good point! I’ve seen airlines wrap their cheese in some sort of paper. Qantas does it for example. But hopefully paper is better in landfill than plastic!
Its actually very hard when it comes to recycling with aviation. Not all catering facilities have capabilities of it and then add another layover of biosecurity and everything gets incinerated!

But for domestic flights…

Rex is almost fully biodegradable or recyclable. Not that i’m a fan of bamboo cutlery! It’s not great to eat with.

Just out of interest I looked at the ‘woollies own’ brand cheese and crackers yesterday, The packaging is fully recyclable. Now it may be a moot point depending on how the catering facilities deal with waste, but we should surely be making the right decisions where we can. If that meant VA asking the manufacturer to ‘go green’, so be it. And presumably VA orders a fair few of the product!

B&E was remarkably average - no idea what the bready thing but it was pretty flavourless.

Apple Cake for desert - pretty good!

Where is the bacon hiding?
Looks like a whole meal muffin?
