Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Ahhh Muppet, my fav, braised short rib with potatoes, carrot and lima beans,,,, they cycle this one on evening flights ex brissy..... love it.

We are about to try SYD-LAX in Business and I will be saying "yes please" to ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING they offer me. I will document each delicious morsel and post here for posterity. As I've mentioned before, we have four kids and I think we're all agreed I have no life. So this trip is going to represent the world's best (and highest) restaurant and I intend to sit back and take it all in.

It was a wonderful experience, so take it all in. Indulge, indulge, indulge!

Yummy breakfast on a MEL-CNS flight yesterday. Breakfast burrito with fried halloumi and roasted tomato. Was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was.
Great Cabin Supervisor Shamus who couldn't have done more, constantly refilling drinks and offered pantry items etc.

*Sniff sniff* Shes eating my spare ribs! I would have had a second serve! :)

On another note, should she be doing that in front of a full cabin!?

Raises an interesting point. I guess FA have to eat and rest, but unless it's a longish flight (transcon for example), I would think that should not happen, especially without a drawn curtain. FAs ignoring the pax has been noticed to be on the rise, now it seems, they're not even pretending to be interested in their work. Would you care to share the flight duration (no need for route)?

I personally wouldn't put a photo of an FA eating (who's clearly identifiable) on a public Internet forum.

I'm in two minds. Service on VA has been falling rapidly and these people are paid (by us) to do a job which often they almost refuse to do ( the one photgraphed for example, couldn't even be bothered to pull the curtain). Name and shame? Perhaps it's time!

Because she ate and someone saw her?

That's just ridiculous.

i work in the public eye, commonly get photographed doing my job, and have no issue with it,,, jeez some people are sensitive aren't they.

and yes swanning, i too have had many a flight with disinterested cabin crew who would rather laugh and carry on and not even answer a call button! just poke the head out, look, and go back to whatever in the galley.
This flight was a start of day for this crew and aircraft, 1hr50 flight time.

Is it? Your abridged version is somewhat lacking an understanding of my comment. As I said, I'm in two minds and unless it was a lengthy flight, I'd say it is not ridiculous. I'd say it's representative.

Oh and look.....an answer whilst I responded. Ridiculous Marty? I think not.

On a positive note, if you fly the east coast alot, and come across 'Danelle' she is a lovely CSM who will go above and beyond for your serivce and comfort on board, i have sent a compliment feedback to VA, had a note added to her HR file for future reference.

I often marvel at Cruiser Elites photo's of the wonderful SQ staff doing their job and appearing happy as well. I cannot ever recall reading anyone post about that being inappropriate and I'm now left wondering why photos on a public forum of airline staff doing their job is acceptable, yet photos on a public forum of airline staff failing to do their job is "poor form".

What is the poor form, is the failure to carry out their work (and many of us have experienced this with VA), the failure of the CS to repremand the staff carrying on in public like the photo depicts and the failure of VA to recognise their product and service has spiralled down a black hole of late.

I too recently publicly praised (and sent feedback to VA) about a great CS named Ben. So we can obviously complement when it's due, so why can't we criticise when that is due?

Spot on. Like i said, some people these days are just too 'sensitive'

Ive had Ben and sent in feedback! Regarding the photo I am also in two minds. Either way I think we need to be actively providing positive feedback for good service and negative for bad and hopefully VA will get the message.

On another note I just did BNE-LAX and about halfway through the flight I requested some pantry items only to be hold there was NOTHING at all left, this meant about 10 hours from meal to meal for me without anything to eat. Flight manager said it was due to cost cutting by VA, return ticket cost over $8,000 NOT HAPPY at all. However the meals we did get, particularly on the return LAX-SYD where absolutely amazing! (sorry no photos) too much drinking on the way over and sleeping on the way back.

I have recently discovered the caramel and chocolate covered popcorn available in The Pantry and they are very addictive....

Indeed they are sir,,, i also seem to enjoy the peri peri chicken sandwich from the BOB menu in Y... They seem happy to oblige no questions asked in J.
