Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

I'm taking a couple of 4-hour flights to/from Darwin in December. What are Virgin doing on those longer flights? Still a single-tray meal at the beginning followed by 3 hours of nothing?
By eating slower it could be 2.5 hours of nothing, albeit handy pantry.....
Also better for digestion!

MCY-SYD afternoon flight
Went for the scallop and kingfish ceviche...

Sorry! That was lunch!
Highly recommend Virtue Bar in Mooloolaba!

Dinner options was shown via iPad:
Jayne's green Thai chicken curry or;
truffles Mac and cheese.

I went with...IMG_20231023_173538.jpg

[Incoming gripe]

The Pinot Grigio was warm and it's a $10 Tatachilla bottle. I'm expensing any neurofen to Jayne!

I was offered ice with my pinot grigio last month o_O.
I replied 'isn't the wine cold' ? Obviously not!

Brisbane to Melbourne breakfast flight.
Scrambled egg on toast was tasty, glad the breakfast didn’t come with cheese and biscuits.
The other option corn fritters was said to be good as well.

Flew a few other afternoon flights and said to the FAs tell the meal deciders to swap out the cheese and biscuits to biscuit and humus, just something different.
Did the FA take a bite out of your cinnamon swirl? :D:D

Does anyone know if virgin lounges are still doing bettys burgers on thurs/fri? Thanks

I didn't see any in MEL on Friday evening last week prior to VA877 to SYD...which incidentally had a choice of grilled chicken or the mushroom gnocchi. I went with the gnocchi and it was decent, as I recall it being in the past. Service was top notch on the flight, as it was again on VA870 on Monday evening back to MEL. The chicken curry was my choice there and it's always reliable if not spectacular.

grilled chicken or mustard chicken? Grilled chock would be a new menu item! (is the new menu out yet?)

I think the OP was asking about availability in the lounge, not on the flight. Probably should have posted in the lounge thread.

OOL-SYD on Tuesday was the green chicken curry or the Mediterranean salad. Went the curry, it's always good. Was hoping for actual new menu, not a rotation but given how tired I was of the cajun chicken sandwich/pumpkin and risoni salad I can't be too upset.

Betty’s Burgers in abundance at the VA SYD lounge, 5:30 pm Thursday. HUGE queue for them!!

Oh, are ‘sliders’ the same thing?

Wow - quite the zoo!!
