Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

And an exact replica for our return J AYQ-BNE.
Luckily the VA chefs watch this thread and took our feedback on.
Attentive service from Charli.

Took V870 Business from Sydney-Melbourne 5.30pm departure (left 30 minutes late) on 08 December. Lounge was a zoo (as usual) and unfortunately couldn't get on an earlier flight as every seat was booked. Was on one of the refurbished 737-800's with the new (more comfortable) business seating - but with no fixed divider between the cabins. Minus a point for that one. That said the flight went well, the FA was lovely and the meal of Beef Rendang (with the other option being the Mac & Cheese with optional Chorizo). Had a nice Sav Blanc to wash it down and they had two refills which was nice. 7/10.

Same options on VA887 MEL-SYD that I took on Thursday 5/12. No chocolate bar though but I was flying on Rewards points; I'd imagine 2A and 2C (who were served first) would have gotten them as the Cabin Manager was quite attentive towards them

Had a Thai vegetable curry (optionally add chicken) on tonight’s VA878 SYD-MEL.

The curry was pretty tasty, though it reminds me of the vegetarian curry served at the Sydney lounge on most Thursday which I’m all too familiar with 😂

Quite a different experience last night on an evening BNE>MEL. CSM came around after take off and took drink orders 1A to 2F then handed them out. We then skipped meal ordering entirely and instead he approached each pair (1AC to 2DF) with a prepared tray of each option to choose on the spot.
The water glass was empty so again came around and offered water after that.

I've never had that happen before - usually it's the same process except a 50:50 that ordering is done via seat or status.

VA267 CBR-MEL, 12.50pm departure

It’s a short flight so just two cold salad options - a Japanese noodle salad with chicken or potato salad with optional chicken. I had the noodle salad and it was fine, but pretty bland if I’m honest.

The cabin manager offered me first meal choice, even though I was in 2F. Interestingly he showed everyone pictures of the two plated meal options on an iPad, as well as the full drinks list on his iPad. I really liked that approach as we had a lot more information, making it easier to decide quickly. :)
