Virgin Australia Delays/Cancellations

Diito Va556 from Per to Syd eta 545pm....full A330 too...captain on PA has made no further comment apart from "passing showers"...so fingers crossed we are not delayed / diverted etc

Just touched down in Syd 15 mins behind schedule...lots of low lying clouds but no rain :)

Also on Wednesday 23 November, VA1092, the 1530 hours mid afternoon from TMW down to SYD did not take off until 1803, so should arrive at 1911 instead of 1635 - 151 minutes behind time. VH-FVN is the ATR 72.

The 1605 hours OOL - SYD that was airborne at 1711, VA532, should arrive at around 1924, 49 late with B738 VH-VUJ.

VA1116, the 1550 hours mid afternoon PPP to BNE was in the sky at a much delayed 1823 hours. It should arrive at 1947 instead of 1725 with aircraft B738 VH-YFJ.

VA962 (1605 hours BNE down to SYD, B738 VH-VUC) was delayed in its takeoff until 1754; arrival should be at 2008, 88 minutes later than the timetable claims.

Another BNE to SYD, VA970, the 1705, took off at 1817, so arrival of B738 VH-YIB is predicted as 52 minutes behind at 2032.

Thursday 24 November sees VA153, the 0700 hours early morning AKL - BNE having had a late start to its task with takeoff at 0808. B738 Vh-YIW is the aircraft: arrival is suggested as 46 minutes tardy at 0826.

VA252 (0625 CBR - MEL) has had an even longer sleep in with takeoff at 0827. Arrival of E190 VH-ZPM should be at 0926, 111 minutes tardy.

The 0700 hours MEL - SYD, VA811 (B738 VH-VUR) was airborne at 0757, and should arrive at about 0907, 42 minutes delayed.

Later on Thursday 24 November, VA228, the 1505 ADL across to MEL took off at 1554. Arrival of VH-VUL, a B738 should occur at about 1735 hours, 40 minutes late.

VA882 (the 1900 hours MEL - SYD that took off exactly at 2000) is B738 VH-YFE; arrival is predicted 57 minutes late at 2132 hours.

The 1735 hours VA184 from NAN down to MEL took off at 1758 which is hardly late, but arrival is not expected until 2147 hours, 37 minutes later than the timetable suggests. VH-YIL is the B738.

Friday 25 November sees VA1188, the 1240 hours from PQQ to SYD that was airborne at 1402 (ATR 72 VH-VPI) suggested as arriving 81 minutes late, mid afternoon, at 1521.

The 1645 hours MEL - SYD, VA865, has been cancelled.

The jet fuel shortage in MEL must be pretty bad in the early evening of Friday 25 November because VA100, the 1835 hours MEL - CHC is not just delayed until an expected 1900 but is diverting via SYD. This is extremely rare for a Trans Tasman flight.

VA880 (1845 hours SYD - MEL that was airborne at 1954, E190 VH-ZPQ) should arrive at about 2113 hours, 53 minutes late.

In further on Friday 25 November, VA246, the 2035 hours ADL - MEL that took off at 2137 hours should pull in to its destination gate at 2314 hours, 49 minutes behind. B738 VH-VUT is the conveyance.

VA249 in the opposite direction, the 2040 hours took off at 2201; arrival of E190 VH-ZPG is suggested as 2236, 66 minutes tardy.

The 2030 hours SYD - MEL was in the sky at 2129. B738 VH-VOP should pull in at roughly 2249 hours this late evening, 44 minutes delayed.

On Saturday 26 November, VA908, the early morning 0600 hours from BNE to SYD (B738 VH-YFC) took off at 0723 so arrival should be about 68 minutes behind schedule at 0743.'

VA1384, the scheduled 0610 hours BNE to ADL crosscountry is similarly afflicted with its take off at 0730 for a suggested at destination gate time of 1028, 63 minutes behind. Plane is B738 VH-YFF.

The early morning WLG - BNE (VA103, due out at 0645) unusually did not take off until 0802, so arrival is expected to be 73 minutes delayed at 0848. VH-YIJ is the B738.

BNE (airport not city) had an incredible amount of 88 millimetres of rain between 0615 to 0830 on Saturday 26 November so that must be why so many flights have departed badly late.

As at 0912 AEST, the 0755 hours BNE - MEL was still at the terminal (B738 VH-YVA) so goodness knows what time its scheduled 1115 arrival will become.

In further delays on Saturday 26 November due to the early morning rain dumped on BNE, VA367, the 0850 hours BNE - TV took off at 1050 or so with B738 VH-VOL. It should arrive 40 minutes late at 1135.

VA702 (0840 hours BNE - HBA, B738 VH-VUV) is only taxiing at 0955 AEST so it will be at least an hour later into the island capital than its timetabled 1235 AEDT arrival.

The 0920 hours BNE - NAN, VA175 took off at 1034 so VH-YIS (B738) will be more than 40 minutes late.

VA1766, the 0945 hours BNE - PQQ did not take off until 1041. ATR 72 VH-FVU is the small plane.

The 0900 hours MEL - BNE (VA319) was airborne at 0955; it is arriving BNE at about 1051, 46 minutes late with B738 VH-VUY.

VA932 (E190 VH-ZPN, the 0905 hours BNE - SYD) took off at approximately 1046 and so should arrive in the harbour city at roughly 1251 this afternoon, 71 minutes tardy.

The 0945 hours BNE down to NTL, VA1102 (B738 VH-VOS) was in position to become airborne by 1054 AEST so it is at least 40 minutes late compared with its scheduled 1205 hours arrival. The identically timed departure to DRW (VA449, B738 VH-VOO) was at 1058 waiting to be allowed to take off, so it will be at least 57 minutes late into DRW rather than its scheduled arrival of 1320 hours.

VA1328 MEL-HBA delayed by ~40 mins. Came in too heavy due to Melbourne fuel crisis. Freight offload didn't fix it, and 3 pax offloaded. We will be on our way soon.

Did they weigh the passengers being offloaded first? Or just choose three larger gents?

I would hope VA would give some monetary compensation to these offloaded pax.

VA said to media today (Saturday 26 November) that 'its operations had been unaffected' by the MEL fuel shortage (which as at 1800 on Saturday 26 has allegedly almost been resolved).

VA's claim is incorrect.

Last night VA100 from MEL to CHC was going to be diverted via SYD for refuelling, but ended up running late nonstop from MEL.

Pn Saturday 26, VA891 (2000 hours MEL - SYD that was airborne at 2115) should arrive at 2225, an hour late with E190 VH-ZPR.

No weighing....2x chosen by VA (unknown why, possibly voluntary) and 1x voluntary after pa announcement. Offer of lounge till next flight....not sure if free points offered or not. I would have offered but travelling with +1. Situation well handled by Captain and VA...no customer angst either.

Sunday 27 November 2016 sees VA842 (1300 hours SYD - MEL, B738 VH-YFG) not having become airborne until 1357. Arrival is likely at 1512 hours, 37 minutes behind time.

Later on Sunday 27 November, VA942 (1605 hours from BNE down to SYD) took off at 1651; arrival of B738 VH-VUC should be at 1917, 37 minutes delayed.

B738 VH-VUS, the 1735 hours from MEL to PEr (VA691) is badly delayed as it was not in the sky until 1920 hours. Arrival should be at 2023 tonight, 93 minutes delayed.

VA184 from NAN down to MEL (the 1735 hours) did not take off until 1903 so naturally B738 VH-YIE will not arrive until approximately 2221 tonight, 71 minutes behind the schedule.

VA686 (1205 hours PER - MEL, A332 VH-XFC) took off at 1301 hours. It is predicted to pull in at 1919 in the early evening, 39 minutes late.

Tuesday 29 November sees VA1325, the 1330 hours HBA - MEL shockingly late with takeoff at 1801 early this evening. Arrival of B738 VH-VUJ should be at 1915, 270 minutes late. From 1500 this afternoon, I cannot see that any VA departures ex MEL were delayed due to this incredibly late flight but perhaps there was a cancellation prior to 1500 hours for 'balancing.'

Thursday 1 December 2016 sees VA842, the 1300 hours SYD - MEL not having taken off until 1359 with B738 VH-VOT. Arrival should be at around 1514 hours, 39 late.

Later on 1 December 2015, VA353 (2000 hours MEL - BNE that was airborne at 2058) should arrive at about 2146, 36 minutes late. Aircraft is VH-VUR, a B738.
