If your review date is, say 15 December but you reach the 200 status credits on, say, 10 November, once Velocity gets around to updating your status (which the T&Cs say could take 8 weeks), does your 12-month period still start from 15 December? Or will it be 10 November? Or perhaps the date at which Velocity does the update?

Relatedly, if I go on to earn SCs after the 10 November (i.e. the date I reach the 200), will they count to the new year?

15 December (so I believe any status credits prior to 15 December won't count to the new year)

How do I know whether they approved a platinum fast track option or just a maintain gold option? The generic email doesn't seem to specify this.

Yeh I'm wondering the same thing, I'm not sure if anyone has the answer to that at this stage it seems.

If you were already silver with VA, then this promotion doesn’t apply. If only red, why not apply under the promotion and skip the fast track process?

What airline and status did you use to match from? From the terms on the generic e-mail (extract below), I think it's fairly safe to presume if you were approved for a match after using a Platinum equivalent FF account, that you would be eligible for the VA Platinum match on reaching 200 SCs inside of the 3 month period:
· If you are a Platinum member (or above) with an eligible Frequent Flyer program and during your 3-month Switch-a-roo Discover Gold trial period earn 200 Status Credits on flights with a VA flight number operated by Virgin Australia, you will receive Platinum Status for a period of 12 months. Please allow for up to 8 weeks after your trial period for your Platinum Status upgrade to be processed and applied.
Cheers,
Matt.

I think the confusion comes from matching from something other than Qantas Platinum where the apples to apples comparison may not be so clear cut.

same here. Applied on 17SEP still no response
Anyone else still waiting after applying early on in the offer? I applied on 14 September and have not been approved yet. Thought they were supposed to be processing them in order of receipt but obviously not if later applications have been already processed. I did receive the acknowledgement email.

Send through another email. I didn't apply through the promotion, but just by email Velocity directly.

As a data point, approved on the 4th business day from sending the email. Sent on Mon 19/9 after business hours, approved Mon 26/9 (with an extra public holiday last week). Now waiting for the status to show up in my profile.

Sent an application afternoon of 20/9, still have yet to receive a response. Might resend again tonight just in case.

Nope - not at all. I'm completely perplexed by the situation. Have re-submitted again to see if it's a luck of the draw thing

I'm not going to lose sleep over it if I don't get it, but it's probably made me slightly more anti-virgin than i was before!

Ended up re-submitting my rejected application with the exact same content, and have just been approved.

Not sure what's going on there!

My acknowledgement email said:

Please take this email as confirmation that your application has been received and is in queue for processing as soon as feasible. We will aim to review your application within four weeks from the date of receipt; if you application is successful - you will receive an email confirmation from us.

Please do not submit any additional application (for yourself) within this 4-weeks processing timeframe. Your 3-months Swith-a-roo Discover Gold trial status will commence within 48 hours from the date the confirmation email is sent.

so it seems sending another application could just confuse the process.

Literally 15 minutes later I got the approval email.. :P

Sent my application last Tuesday and received a rejected application at 2pm today. Did not say why rejected, just that it may be one or more of things in a fairly long list. Since it is the last day I forwarded that email to the promotion email addressing each of the criteria directly.

I also called the VFF number on the email only to eventually speak to someone offshore who said they will be able to tell me the reason for the rejection but needed my case number. Despite telling the fellow no case number was provided as part of the promotion application, he repeatedly kept asking for it?!? Gave up.

1. Could try a resubmit.
2. Apply for another velocity account (different email) and try again..

A question to the brain trust, please: what happened to my status credit level for the membership year?

Back in time, the month I joined Velocity was March. Yesterday the VA app showed 85 SC's (status level Red). Today the status match rolled through and the app now shows me as a Gold but with 25 SC only. Why would that be?
