My brothers small business that has VA cards (10) - yes I know not quite legit lol, rang up, got an annual fee free extension AND a free swap to QF earning as well.
They are now all moved across to QF.

So it is good to see Amex supporting members in moving them off VA cards at no charge.

Can't see it posted in here so sorry if i missed it elsewhere. Just check my account and i'm being offered 1 bonus point per $1 spent at supermarkets (10,000 capped), 5 bonus points per dollar spent on food delivery services (7,500 capped) and 10 bonus points for Amazon prime, though i can't quite tell if this is just the membership itself or on purchases too (1,500 capped).

This is with Platinum Velocity, all ending 31st July.

Hard to know if it'll mean much when/if VA is back up and running but a decent bonus at least. I'm not looking to swap to QF at this stage myself but things can change..

Hi, you may want to check out the thread on Amex statement credits - it's a good place to keep track of/discuss offers: New [Amex] statement credits

They mentioned they would use a prorata method of calculating the remaining annual fee left to credit/ contribute to the annual fee of the new product...less than ideal

They did not offer the Explorer Card as an option
Update on this, AF was refunded as a credit to the account in full, which is better than expected. Kudos to Amex for this. She’s actually canx the card now, and they’ve said they’ll refund the credit balance to our account. She’s a supp on my Plat Edge, which we’ll keep for supermarkets for now, but I’ll decide on whether to renew come the end of the year.

It’ll be a shame for me to canx, as I’ve held Amex cards for years, but the benefits are slim now and I can’t justify the fees just for (albeit excellent) customer service. Same will likely be the case for my ICC Platinum card, which I’ve kept for the insurance, but US$550 will be a bitter pill to swallow if I can’t travel for the foreseeable.

I’ve still got a UK Amex keeping a stack of MR’s alive over there (no fee) so I can access easy Avios if required, so I won’t leave the stable entirely, for now.
