The bigger picture here. With passengers on these flights who is going to cater and operate them? VAA don't have catering contractors in these ports, who can do cart uplifts on 737 aircraft or have trained contractors to do so ($$) Also VAA Cabin Crew cannot operate these distances or long hours so EBA dispensation would be required which would require union involvement ($) 737 aircraft are not used on these revenue routes, so ground contractors would be required at each port to deal with passengers, which again costs money. Also adds weight which reduces distance and adds fuel costs. Im sure the airline wishes to get the aircraft as quickly and cheaply to Australia. Not inflate a couple of high tiered already inflated FF'ers
"Money Could Not Buy" this type of service however It would Cost VA considerably to do so. 777 deliveries would be different as crews and contracts are in place to do so. But im sure if they were to do so they would try to make it a revenue flight to recoup some of the cost of positioning aircraft.
And im sure other airlines do not do this service for their high tiered FF on routes they do not operate on a revenue basis.
I laugh at these types of requests or suggestions.
When people start paying for a premium airline, and not wanting a premium airline and wanting to pay LCC fares. Maybe VA might go forward. But as most still want to pay JQ fares but want QF full service. Its a slow road to the top. VA is a business, a Business which makes little money considering its revenue. I think they have come leaps and bounds in 3 years, with much to go. However my share price has not.
