Virgin Australia Light Fare Class

With many OTAs you can’t, they need to offer you a fare family up-sell, and a lot don’t do that for long-haul flight or meta-search traffic.

We’re actually debating at work right now about how many people would use it, so if it’s worth the development effort versus doing something else people would like.
For your research, know that if it was on offer then we would use it. There's often a substantial difference between price offered by OTA and direct with airline, and when you multiply that by 8 for our family, it ends up being quite a bit of money!!

I think everyone agrees it would be good, it’s just that if we’re going to do it we want to do it well, and given a fixed about of development capacity do we do that, or something else which people also want. I’d love to also tell people they can get a free stopover on their trip (obviously we’d try to cross-sell you the hotel to stay in), and better online booking management tools.

So many things to do, not enough dev capacity, same as most places.

If you can offer at least a 10% savings, i'd definitely consider it. Although I only use a few OTA's as ones I consider reputable and reliable... so it depends if you fall in that bucket :D

Yeah, same, I don't mind using Expedia as sometimes it will give a much cheaper price, and if you bundle a hotel at the same time you get a big discount. But it does frustrate me that I cannot book a slightly higher fare class if I assess the extra cost would be worth the benefits.
